Was it really necessary though? Could you not have said that and also gave him some advice? Since you know noobs are apparently more defensive...could you be less instigative? :dunno

I don't remember what you said to him after he replied, which should have been an apology and "let's move on", but I think you continued to egg him on.

Just saying. I think you're a nice guy, certainly one of the better members on this forum, but I don't think you were in the right here.

If you don't remember what I said to him after he replied with his cantankerous and petulant outburst, then you need to call this discussion quits.

Kind of obvious why King Darkness calls you Pixletwit, isn't it.

I'm sorry I posted that Star Wars cantina scene in the Threezero GoT thread when everyone was picking on you. It was just a joke. Go relax by shooting dogs in the head or whatever else it is you enjoy doing.

And you call my interventions unnecessary. What's good for the goose Lar'ja...

The last time I had an altercation with a noob was a guy in the A&R section posting new predator threads.

He Posted Like This Capitalising The First Letter of Every Word And Using Zero Punctuation Which Made His Posts Extremely Awkward To Read Because It Confuses The Brain Into Thinking That Each Word Is The Start Of A New Sentence And Obviously The Lack Of Commas And Fullstops Exacerbated This Effect Significantly

I may have responded in a sarcastic way....or then again maybe I responded politely, it was about 2 years ago. I tried to tell the guy to make it easier on himself and others - stop capitalising the first letter of every word ^ that bit up there took ages for me to type let alone the difficulty someone would have in reading it.

But he took great exception to my post, he wasn't having it at all and flamed me good and proper.

That was me learned anyway. Don't **** with a noob.

I don't remember what you said, but I remember it not being kind, apologetic or helping to move things along whatsoever. Which would have been the right thing to do. Now I imagine the guy's thread is either closed or being trolled endlessly.

That isn't the same situation at all. Pixletwin isn't a noob for one.

Stange. I don't recall insulting you today.
Then you have a bit of a problem.

Making a snide remark, especially when I've said nothing to you = insulting in my book.

We were all noob's at one time. Some are just a little more sensitive then others I guess. I recall if anyone jumped down my throat I just ignored them. Not worth the time and effort. Had guys threaten me on MySpace years ago over a game, lol. They were going to fly cross country with their weapons and put me in my place. Good luck getting on a plane.

Guy changed the title and Mods cleaned it up. Everybody's happy again.

All I see there is a broad general post I made about something I marvel at. Not sure why you thought I was talking about you.

Oh well. :dunno

But since you brought it up... You have received multiple infractions and you do seem to like to dish out advice on how board members should interact with one another... This was shortly before you said I relax by shooting doggies in the head. You have a very interesting way about you, I must say. :lol

:rotfl

Obviously you were referring to me. Having lots of infractions doesn't mean **** when the mods have their priorities screwed up. And obviously, the dog comment was in reference to you supporting the cop who shot that person's dog in the head.

Stop trying to play dumb, you're not very good at it.

Let's play nice. The dog shooting comment was I think out of line. As far as infractions those are always on the member who gets them. It has nothing to do with our priorities being screwed up. I have much bigger things on my plate than dealing with young adults or adults who have to act worse than the kids at my alternative school.

That sounds ridiculous! I won't ask how it came to that. I don't picture you being in internet flamewar situations, your posting style suggests a chilled out approach. Which is more what I aim for myself these days.

I do feel somewhat bad drawing attention to (and using the label) ''Noob''. My brother, who isn't really an internet forum kind of guy told me about his one experience of innocently asking for people's opinions on something, a computer game expansion pack I think - he made the mistake of starting a thread :lol and was rounded upon by some of the regulars. I told him ''never start a thread, never'' :lol At the same time though I felt a defensive urge on behalf of my brother, ''how dare they, ****ers''. So there you go. A noob is someone's brother, someone's son, someone's dad etc etc etc

I guess my whole point should have been more generally directed rather than just put on noobs - seek to avoid conflict. Take a joke, get in on the joke. I wonder how many flamewars and ongoing antagonisms could have been averted if not for some misunderstanding or kneejerk reaction to something said at the start. Same probably applies in real life on scales big and small.
