I marvel at it because a minor misspelling is one thing - definitly, definately etc - but a misspelling that turns it into a completely different word which is pronounced differently and means something else entirely

How does one not see it. ''Defiantly'' stands out straight away to my eyes. The very word is defiant in the way in which it is not ''definitely''!

The defiantly/definitely mix-up doesn't bother me so much because I think it's due to spell-check or whatever.

The one that annoys me the most right now is people who don't know the word "complaint" exists and use "complain" instead. Holy **** that drives me insane.

The next time someone tells me they have no "complains" about a statue, I may lose it.
