The spirit of the gesture isn't dependent upon the actual circumstance.
The spirit of the gesture isn't dependent upon the actual circumstance.
Where a gesture originates and what ideals it inspires in those who are naive to the uglier reality, are not related by any meaningful connection.
I'm just assuming the reality was ugly though. Why do women pass through the door first? I suppose it's not so clean and innocent as a simple opportunity to check out her ass.
Smoking in any public place. Keep your cancer to yourself
Not just there. People who smoke in cars but hold it out the window so their car doesn't smell like an ash tray, but you smell it in yours, inconsiderate smokers in apartments who go outside and smoke on a patio so their apartment doesn't smell like it but have little concern that doing so makes the one upstairs smell like it, etc.
I wish. The woman passes through the door first to take the assassin's arrow.
I really wish you could still smoke in bars. I imagine ventilation systems would have improved over the last ten years, but we'll never know.

The Medieval period is so romanticized and it was so insanely rotten. I'll grant that there was heroism to be found, and the European scholars who dragged it kicking and screaming into the modern era were gods on Earth, but in general it was a sad waste of history.
What kind of dumb ____ assassin shots the first person that walks through a door without confirming identity?
Sounds like a stupid origin and probably based in myth more than reality. I call BS on that one.
Exactly. I can't argue with anyone who says that bars are easier to breathe in now, but I don't care. Next thing you know, it'll be illegal to get drunk in bars.
This ____. What ____ing sick pedophiles thought this was a good idea?!?!?!:
Swung by Walmart today looking for the Freddy, Jason and MM shirts and when I couldn't find them, decided I'd check the Halloween area. My daughter's a huge Hello Kitty freak (like Dorkness), and we stumbled on this costume. Had to explain to her that it was highly inappropriate. It would be entirely different if this was an adult costume, but I was disgusted to see the sizes are for years 4-16. WTF?! It's funny how Walmart won't carry certain artist albums due to profanity, but won't hesitate to pop this ____ on an endcap.
Maybe the same sicko who thought this would be a good idea... walking down the Barbie aisle in Toys'r'Us I came across this little gem:
Little Red's got all the sexed-up references going on: the frilly white lace and velvet bodice, school girl tartan, fishnet stockings and red high heels, and red satin knickers (yes I looked). And if that doesn't hammer home what a sexually laden ensemble this is, they've thrown in the wolf - who has his tongue licking his chops while staring at her cleavage!
I mean I thought this was awesome, so I bought it for myself. But far out, I can't be alone in wondering what the hell this was doing in a store that sells toys for kids.
