Re: ThreeZero Toys: AMC's The Walking Dead

3Zero should definitely look into a Prison Guard zombie release. That would be a great piece to compliment any S3 human.

Any word on when these will pre-order, I've been hoping for figures like these for years and I want in asap.

Q4 is the loose date we've been given. I expect the Pets to go up for pre-order no later than a month after the October 13 Season 4 premiere. They will want to take advantage of the publicity new episodes brings.

If these are 130-150, it will prove how bad SS and HT are price gouging. Yes you can argue HT is tops in quality, but SS is nowhere near that.

Indeed. Which is why I haven't picked up an HT figure in over a year. They have quite a few figures I want but I can't justify paying damn near $200 for a single standard figure atm no matter how much I may want it.

There are other factors that impact the prices as well. The big Marvel, Star Wars, DC, etc. licenses probably cost a ton more than The Walking Dead from AMC does.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: AMC's The Walking Dead

That will only work if the quality is there.

I'm only judging by the pics I've seen but the 2 pet Walkers at the very least look to be on par with SS in terms of quality. Merle while his head sculpt needs improvements (which they say will happen) and the tailoring on his clothes could use a little improvement as well, the paint on the proto looks about as good as anything that HT or SS puts out imho. I guess we'll have to wait and see if the final product lives up to everyones expectations.

You don't think the license for the highest rated TV show on the planet cost a fortune? I bet it did.

Re: ThreeZero Toys: AMC's The Walking Dead

In cable TV terms (highest rated cable, not network), sure. But compared to huge billion-dollar movie franchise licenses, no.

I hope this line does extremely well so the feasibility in creating 1:6 scale figures for other big pop culture shows like Game of Thrones increases.

The Walking Dead actually was the highest rated show on TV, not just cable. It consistently beat pretty much everything.

I'm very interested in this line.

The poles expect app. 27 million people to watch the season premiere. WOW!

If you have told me 6 years ago when i got into the film/ horror industry that a freakin zombie series would 1 be on tv and 2 be this popular , i would call you nuts , then i would ask around for a time machine to see this glorious moment in tv history... then id go back in time and save up to be able to buy all the tie in merchandise lol

With the world's growing fascination for all things zombie, I don't really see how anybody couldn't. :huh

Re: ThreeZero Toys: AMC's The Walking Dead

I've been a zombie fan since '82, so these are awesome times for me.

well keep in mind that for the longest time swearing on tv was a big deal, walking dead coming along was a surprise just because of what it got away with. Think about it , first episode we saw the bicycle girl dragging about, something that well , even some films cant even pull off at that level of quality. So yeah this series being on tv is surprising but very welcomed and its got zombies so heck yeah!!

In the 18-49 demo, yes. But it didn't beat all the network shows in overall viewers.

It's a moot point. It's a great show with a big audience and we're finally getting officially licensed figures. Hooray!

Been a fan of zombie flicks since the early 80's. It's almost hard to believe that there was a time the genre was once shunned, but over the years, the popularity has grown. So by the time TWD hit, after seeing how Zombieland was embraced by the mainstream, it was pretty obvious it would be a success. Though I will say I'm surprised AMC is getting away with the amount of gore they're putting into it. But the series being a success wasn't surprising at all. Especially having read the comics since they first came out and knowing Kirkman was involved.
