As somebody who was a FedEx driver for 4 years, I would say you could buy him a nice bottle of something or $15/£10 plus. That's what I got around this time of year. Some people who I delivered to, or picked up from every day, did not even give me a crappy Christmas Card

I do that for my postie every year. He looks a bit like Roy Orbison.

I aint tipping no delivery man. I dont tip my mail man so why should I tip UPS or Fedex worker?

:D

I don't receive tips for doing my job, so I don't tip mail carriers or UPS/Fedex drivers for doing their job. Both get paid well enough and probably more than I do.

No tip. They earn well. They're not waiters making minimum wage.

I've been in a lot of debates about tipping on different message boards. I know people who tip the guys who come work on their furance or plumbers. I'm sorry but no way am I tipping all these people.

I give my mailman, and the FedEx or UPS guy who happens to come in close to Christmas, homemade candy. I have no idea what those other guys make, but my mailman makes at least 3 times more than I do a year.

what kind of tip should i leave for this?

Do you honestly believe that this package was in perfect condition when it was loaded on the truck for delivery? This looks to me like it started with poor packaging. It should have been packed with fill to help keep it's shape and it should have been taped better. I would put money that this damage was done prior to the delivery driver ever having laid eyes on it.

My Fedex driver goes out of his way to get my figures to me without a wait. He goes above and beyond by meeting me on the road on my way home from work when he has to have a signature. Others have actually signed for the package for me and locked them in my other car. For their efforts beyond what they are required to do...they get some appreciation.

I do believe it should be on a case-by-case basis, though. If my driver was a jerk...he would get squat.

To be honest Drivers don't want damaged parcels, because you normally end up putting them back in the van after they have been refused. It's people at the main depots who are normally to blame, as they cram as much as they can in each cage, regardless if they are fragile or not. I never expected a tip when I delivered, but I was happy even it was a pound coin. I think a lot of people enjoy tipping especially this time of year because it makes us feel good about ourselves not just the person who is receiving the tip.

So people tip to make themselves feel better about themselves huh? :lol

You don't have to tip them every time Ebenezer, we are just discussing if you want to tip them at Christmas. I say do it if you want to, not if you feel like you have to
