Just saw it. I liked it quite a bit. Hardy did very good with the little he had to work with and Venom looked and sounded pretty cool. I didn't expect them to pull off as much humor as they did.

The love interest was needed due to no spiderman in this. I hate Woody Harrelson as the actor for you know who. He's just too old imo. The sequel has to have spiderman.

Surprised by the current audience score for this... or maybe they are all just bots created by SNIKT. :lol

So the audience liked this more than TLJ then? :chase

Yeah, people choose when to believe the critics and when to believe the fans. Everyone is a hypocrite when it comes to servicing their opinion and ego. :lol

TLJ : Critics love it, fans hate it = fans are man babies and Russian bots.

Venom : Critics hate it, fans love it = critics don't know what they are talking about!

Can't make this crap up folks!!

And all this still has no bearing on what it brings in at the Box Office and whether Sony feels it was a success or a failure.

Great flick overall. Hardy was outstanding. Great job on the Venomation. Harrelson looks like an out of place old fart. Maybe in his Natural Born Killer days, but not now.

Chakor have you seen this yet? If so what did you think? I’m curious to hear your opinion on it.

That would require Chakor to actually leave his zombie apocalypse safe room and go be around other human beings for 2 hours so that ain’t happening lol

I haven't yet, but I'm thinking of seeing this and the new Halloween movie on the same day if the theatre schedule allows it.

Funnily enough, the school where I work is actually taking the students on a trip to see Venom today. :lol

I stopped reading comic books in the mid 80's, so both Deadpool and Venom were known to me only as movie characters. I liked both Deadpool movied quite a bit, but this storyline could have been much better. Tom Hardy was the one that brought me to see this movie, and I could not help but think he just phoned this performance in, compared to his previous work, which I think is outstanding. Overall, yeah, I guess I agree with rotten tomatoes: 3/10

I saw this Thursday night and honestly, haven't read much of the opinions in here, but overall, I liked it. I had low expectations going in, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I thought Tom Hardy did a good job as Eddie and really embraced the character well, IMO. His relationship with the symbiote was the highlight of the movie for me. I've read a few reviews online and agreed in that this was an amalgamation of the Lethal Protector series with a pinch of Planet of the Symbiotes run. And while the movie didn't blow me a way, I thought it stayed pretty true to the source material, IMO. I get others will disagree though.

I think it's rough making a movie without Spider-Man being an influence. It can only be so great, which is what I think we got.

Overall, 7/10 for me.
