Hardy doesn't take **** films or roles. He turned down both X-Men: Apocalypse & Suicide Squad.

Homecoming looks terrible and this news further consolidates how SONY's proposed Venom solo film is already looking better than the MCU's pathetic (Tony Stark's *****) version of Spidey.

The pro-MCU Spidey people are in for a rough couple of years. SONY is taking back Spidey very soon and unleashing a shared universe not interested in pandering to the kids.

Spidey's sudden departure will just be the start. The fall of the MCU begins here.

Feige has stated that Spidey's involvement in the MCU extends as far as the fourth Avenger's film, currently. If Sony sees that it will be profitable to extend their partnership with Marvel Studios, then it is likely to see further Spidey films in the MCU. It will be interesting to see how things go for Sony with their own universe building. It could go either way.

TDKR is disliked by people on forums. It is by no means considered a bad movie in cinema. It made AFI's Top 10 that year and tracked well critically.
