Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Makes total sense.

https://screenrant.com/amy-pascal-sony-venom-silver-black-mcu/

Of course these movies are not in the MCU. Hardy would have never agreed to an MCU movie.

?? :slap Yeah, why would he ever want to be part of one of the most successful franchises in movie history, when he can join a company who's last 2 attempts failed... :lol Who needs back end movie deals that can result in millions? Tom Hardy knows a winner when he sees it. I'd rather watch the Bane version from Batman & Robin than what he did. He wasn't even Bane, just some dumb ass in a mask. And what a great voice actor he is too!! No one ever made fun of his Bane voice. Can't wait to hear him as Venom... :rotfl

I think Amy Pascal needs to go to rehab for whatever drugs she is taking. That lady is a mental case. She says on record live in an interview only a couple days ago that the movies exist together while actually sitting next to Kevin Feige, who looks extremely perplexed and confused, as they are promoting Spider-Man Homecoming. Then today they both release "official statements" that the movies are not connected and in their own universes. I guess Kevin got up from the interview, made a call to Disney' lawyers who called Sony's lawyers who said "shut that ***** up or else" and then ended this dumb **** real quick.

And if Venom isn't tied to Spidey, his powers and costume will make actually NO SENSE!! It's gonna be a guy running around covered in black goo who makes pointy things and uses his tendrils to grab people.

Financially successful? Sure.

Artistically appealing? Not a chance.

People who think Hardy took this role for the money truly don't understand Tom Hardy.

What do you wash his toilet? And after Spider-Man 2 anything artistic Sony had went down the drain. They are as shallow as the mcu you hate so much. Hell the freaking people tried to copy the mcu with a " spidey universe " that died after one movie.

So cool.

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Are there Venom stories in the comics that don't involve Spidey?

The ones where he is a goofy anti hero. Yup. Usually all his comics delve into his inner turmoil and his anger toward Spider-Man . When Spider-Man died or he thought he died he became a protector of the innocent . Didn't last to long tho.

Screw that, just gimme (literal) "Internet Explorer" Carnage:

Lots of 'em. He's a great reluctant hero. I'm sure the film will explore his struggle with the symbiote where Eddie doesn't wanna hurt anyone but the symbiote very much enjoys killing.

With Carnage it's a match made in heaven. Kasady and his symbiote both relish mass murder.

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Tom herdy is soooooo perf

So what's the point of this movie then? If Spider-Man isn't in this and it's not connnected to anything then I go back to my previous statements. It's going to be nothing more than a soulless cash grab that will have venom in a universe without spidey. It's funny that Amy pascal tried to make people think this movie was connected and fiege had to call her out. It's like she knows this is a bad idea but.... money.

She wasnt happy with only ruinning the amazing spiderman franchise and destroying ghostbusters but now shes gonna ruin venom and black cat....wtf is her deal :lol

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

There's tons of great stories from the solo series in the 90s they can adapt. The best part is they don't have to delve into the origin again since this is rumored to be set long after Eddie became Venom and at a point where Venom and Spider-Man are well into a long-standing truce brokered many years ago (Parker eventually quits).

I'm thinking Eddie's been Venom for at least a decade in this movie and its Kasady's merger with the symbiote spawn that we're going to see.

The problem is not the venom solo movie.
Technically you can have a solo movie of any character.

The biggest problem is that this is an origin movie. Thats why this is so messy.
Specially because of how connected venom is to spiderman. Spiderman literally births venom.
How are they gonna explain venoms powers

Venom has a freaking giant spider on his chest.......how is gifted genius amy pascal gonna get around that?

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

A lot of you guys already said this but this movie is really just a cash grab. With Spider-man being part of MCU and relevant again, piggy back on its success and take his most popular villain and make a movie on it. It has potential to be great, but the execution needs to be there, and I doubt, based on previous examples, that they will succeed. It makes me wonder now what villains Marvel got for their Spidey films. Here's hoping they do Hobgoblin and not Green Goblin.

Re: Tom Hardy is Venom: An Auteur Story

Lmao who changed the thread title?

How is that good? That's will be confusing the the general public. Venom walking around minding his own business and made a truce with Spider-Man would confuse people. Having the film start off with venom and not explaining whee he came from would be strange and to top it off you introduce carnage who won't even fight Spider-Man . What a waste.
