Yea this is a big gamble for Sony.They probably don't want to show anything cause it does fit into the MCU somehow . I wonder if this is still rated R.

Nah, it’s nine months out. They’ll premier some images leading up to SDCC premier a teaser at SDCC, maybe a full trailer at NYCC to start people talking about it and then start a three month marketing push in August after the Summer blockbuster season closes.

This movie has the potential to kill Spider-Man in the MCU deal if it’s not executed right. I don’t think Kevin Fiege was involved with this movie at all yet it’s MCU adjacent. Sony should’ve fired Amy Pascal when this was announced, hired someone with the patience to work next to the MCU and build Spidey’s world better. Instead it’s...plop here’s our venom movie, even though our new Spider-Man’s story has barely started....give us them dollars. The director and the writer aren’t terrible choices and I don’t see Tom Hardy as picky as he has been with roles choosing this if the script was crap, so I have hope, hope that this Venom eats the Flash from the Homecoming movie and they recast so one day we get an Agent Venom that isn’t a little *****. And I hope it turns out good. 8/10 would be a win for this one.
