Yeah I dont care for the host and the way he deals, but seeing the toys and hearing the stories behind them is interesting enough that I'll keep watching. It just basically boils down to hes in it for the profit not the love of collecting or the love for the toys. Hes got no connection other than the fact he knows whats rare and what people are looking for. Hes nostalgic in the sense of he has memories, but doesnt care enough about the toy itself. In the end for him its a business. I can understand that, but at the same time like I said it just made me laugh cause I was thinking this dude is going to have a ton of people hating him, lol. I'll keep watching for sure though.

Couldn't have said it better. :exactly:

You hit the nail on the head.

Makes me feel like doing an episode on modern collectibles would make the show collapse in on itself.

It boggles my mind that someone who isn't a ____ing billionaire can roll in off the street and drop 17,000 on the spur of the moment for a tiny little toy. :cuckoo:

:lol I know, and he talked about it as if the "collection community" saw it as a holy grail. But I've never heard of a blue rocket boba fett :lol

I thought the markup on the Care Bears, Wicket and MASK stuff wasn't too bad at all.
One thing that bugs me about American Pickers is they'll score something and their markup is typically pretty exorbitant.

Well I saw the Sabretooth PF in the office with the girl on the phone and a Hot Toys Thor in his sale booth at the convention.

Look, guy bought the figure for
10 dollars in Baseball cards
he's making a major profit.

My experience is that comic book and toys collector store owners have always been slimy but this guy doesn't seem that bad.

Guy came across like a d-bag. Not saying he is, just that he came across like one. I couldn't watch more than 15 minutes of it.

I understand the premise of the show but the guy didn't come across as very likable. He's not exactly the "American Pickers" type of guy.

I did pop back in for the comic con segment, but that was even worst...don't think I'll be tuning in as a regular. I can get the same story on eBay.

Dude, Mike Wolf is a total D-Bag. You should check out the Antique Archaelogy store web site sometime.

He was nickel-and-diming it the whole time. He made $15 here and $20 there. I doubt that guy at the end came in at the last minute to buy the SW figure. It all looked staged.

Still, I like seeing the toys so maybe if we watch this it will lead to more toy shows!

I'm actually enjoying Making Monsters a lot more. Can't believe I haven't come across it before!
Guess Toy Hunters wasn't a total loss. :lol :rock

I enjoyed the show for the most part except for the host. Just can't stand guys like him.
