He completely opened the butt of those former designers for serious ____ rapage. He knew damn well he was under-quoting them on the prices he could get.

Then they should do the legwork and sell their own stuff. You can't blame him for trying to make the best deal possible for himself. :dunno

It doesn't change the fact that he's a liar and blatantly took advantage of them. :huh

Nobody held a gun to their head. if they wanted more for their toys, they should've kept them. If you're doing a deal with someone, and the first words out of their mouth are, "I don't want to rip you off," unless you're the biggest moron in the world, you know they're trying to rip you off.

i'm pretty sure all those guys have an idea of what the toys could fetch in the first place......especially tom.
and i wouldn't worry too much about those ex-employees...........im sure they had more than just those "one" set left anyway.......:wink1:

*makes mental not to never take TOM at his word* :nana:

I wanna see him come across one of those kiddie idiots, like we have here, trying to get rich off of McFarty, MEZCO and NECA toys. :lol

if you're gonna have a toy show it shouldn't be about some guy scalping. depending on the run time, it should show off 1 or 2 different collections each week with stories of how certain pieces were obtained. it would also have fellow collectors wheeling and dealing with each other. of course you could also follow them around to shows, garage sales etc...

Given some of the collections around here, it could even be a spinoff of Hoarders. :lol

Actually, some of the older McF stuff is worth quite a bit. The AvP line alone is worth at least 40-50 each figure.

:D

The toy designer guys seemed like really cool dudes. I thought the Thundercats guy was the best.

I wonder if the Mad Bubbler goes back to the designer guy since he wasn't able to sell it at the convention.

I don't know how many of you remember this show, but I have very fond memories of it. In fact it's where my panhandle comes from. I sat and watched every week with whetted appetite. I remember episodes with art, Disney, Betty Boop, Comics, an many other subjects. It was a little cheesy, but I LOVED this show in its heyday. This is what I hoped this show was going to be like.

I watched it this morning and was fairly unimpressed. The "host" dropping knowledge was interesting to a point but him freaking about how much things were worth and then him coming in with a lowball was eyebrow raising. Not to mention that he wasn't very likable. His voice was grating on the ears and seeing the little cut scenes in between him mining the designers' collections made me like him even worse. He didn't have the same gravitas that a lot of those other pawn show hosts had and it was forgettable. I wouldn't watch another episode.

I had a problem with that. He said MASK was a precursor to Transformers but I remember Transformers in '84 and MASK later in '85.
