Well here's hoping they come up with a decent story/script this time. You can tell this was written during the writers strike, as it screams Micheal Bay all over it. The writers must have had a week to cobble together a story from Bay's ideas.

How about less humans and more robots? Robots that are actually characters. What a nifty idea for a Transformers movie.

Well, judging from the box office returns on this already, they could afford it. I have no problem with Sam and Makayla and Sam's parents. Even the military, just cut all the other stupid characters like the roommate and John Turturro (I enjoyed him in the first, but there was WAY too much of him in this). I want characters like Sideswipe and Arcee to be characters. I want the villains to be imposing like Barricade, not background fodder to cause explosions.

You have a good point. But again, they had to have a lot of scenes with real people thrown in to eat up time as it is a costly venture and work to do all that crazy intense CGI. Or, lose about 20 minutes... I so would have gone that route. I don't know why these movies have to be so long in the first place? Some of the best entertaining action flicks are short and sweet.

Movies like this one are rollercoaster rides... problem is if your rollercoaster ride is too long, you could end up wearing your insides on the outside. That is bad.

I think it's amusing that people assume great action movies aren't expected to have good acting and some how they get a pass or "lowered expectations" (LOL reminds me of SNL from the early 90's every time I say that phrase). It is possible to have both, whether you have robots in them or not that is no excuse. My off the top of my head list of great action movies with good acting........

Lethal Weapon series
Spiderman 1&2
Kill Bill
300
Bourne Movies (even though I hate MD)
Terminator 1&2
Gladiator
Batman Begins and TDK
Matrix
Indiana Jones
Alien 1&2
The Professional
Sin City
Die Hard
Heat
Desperado

Seriously you can even get into cartoons..... The Incredibles has better acting (and action imo) and it's a dam cartoon! (yes yes not officially a cartoon but you get my point).

It is possible to have both and honestly I see no reason not to be able to expect that every time you go to the theater. Computers and crazy ass special effects have definitely improved the movie going experience but they have also in some cases taken so much away from it as well.

Um...oh ^^^^ing well? These films have ^^^^ stories, decent acting, and amazing action. I'm seeing the movie for the action. I know what I want, and I got it both times.

Big ^^^^ing robots beating each other.

and what's the point of a movie abt giant ^^^king robots beating the ^^^^ outta each other if you can't even see who's doing what to whom?

case in point: the entire last 30 minutes or so, in the desert.

Not sure what the ^^^^ your talking about cause i saw bumblebee owning i saw jet fire owning i saw Long haul getting owned:monkey2 i saw megatron run like a little ^^^^^ i saw Devastator and his balls and let not forget Optimus Prime with Jet Fire owning Megatron Starscream & the Fallen! which was the ^^^^!! :rock plus the Arcees taking it up the ass in there 5 second shot:rotfl

i think it's more the fact that all the action was hard to follow - the camera kept moving around very fast, the wide shots of the action were so few and far between (and short lived), and there were so many robots on screen at times that one got lost on who was doing what. at least that's how I felt.

i disagree cause the first movie was really bad at this. This one was way better and it allowed me to follow the action with no problem. i mean when they are fighitng Brawl/devastator you barely see the ^^^^er untill Bumblebee hit him with the shot in the face. i could barely see WTF was going on when Bublebee was fighting Barricade.

In this one i had none of that i saw everybody and i knew who was who.

I don`t think was that bad in ROTF,in the first movie it was much worse, just watch the Bumblebee vs Barricade scene.

Agree a 100%,i feel the same way.

i'll have to see this one again when it comes out on DVD then. Maybe I'll feel differently.

Watch The first, then TF2 and you will see that the camera angles was one of the things Bay got right this time, the first movie was a mess in some scenes.
