Back when the first episode aired I thought maybe she had super human fighting ability. Now Im just thinking it was a campy and poorly designed fight scene. As in, that aspect of her powers wasnt abandoned...it just never existed and we all read into a bad fight scene and nonsense as a super power.

I don't know. The way she wrapped that chain around her hand and punched that guy clear across the street. I don't see how that could be misconstrued any other way but superhuman. I think i am going to try and rewatch that episode to see if I just saw it wrong but I am 99% sure I saw it right.

Ok I did some looking around. In the unaired pilot episode there was a blue eyed blonde in the woods that used her powers to put the chain around the ratrays neck. It wasn't supposed to be sookie who did it. Now in the episode that aired the blonde wasn't there. So I think it was an error in editting.

I could be wrong, but didn't Sookie throw the chain at Ratray and it tightened itself around his neck? I didn't think she punched him. Either way it was never explained.

Yeah...I dont remember her punching anyone. in the second episode when the Ratrays were attacking Sookie it LOOKED like she punched him across the street...but it was actually Bill running at super speed that punched him.

Im fairly convinced the first episode fight scene was just poorly played out. The chain wrapping itself around his neck and tighening I was just poor special effects I would guess....

Do you know who had a lot of chemistry at the Con panel was Eric and Jessica. She looked at him with even bigger doe-eyes than she does at Hoyt!

:lol

But then... I would too if I got to sit next to him... :drool

Your right she didn't punch him she did throw the chain.

Damn I love this show!!! :rock

I really like Godric's character a lot, I loved his viewpoint on vampire/human relations and thought it was awesome that he ended the confrontation between the Vamps and FoS.

Just when you thought the ^^^^ hit the fan, it looks like there is even more craziness ahead in next weeks episode, can't wait!! :rock

I have a bad feeling Godric's done for thanks to that blast. I think Jason and Sookie will be fine but most of those Vampires are going to die I think.

Godric's cool and right about what he was saying, but he still should have known better and killed Newlander.

Hell yeah! I actually hated the guy playing Godric at first. But as the show went on I really started to like him! I just expected the ultimate vamp to be more older and more scary. But his character added so much. His forgiveness makes him even more scary. You get the feeling like you don't want to see him pissed off. :horror

Very cool! I love this show. This is better than any other show out there IMO.

Anyone get the impression that Godric was going to let them stake him out in the dawn? Getting something of a Lestat suicide vibe from him.

Jason is such a great character too! Dumb as a bag of hammers, but you have to love him for his loyalty and sincerity.

The structure of this season is a bit odd - I guess there are only a couple of episodes left as they wrap up the FoS and the Manead plotline is now coming the fore. But you'd think the two plot lines would converge at some point.

I definitely got that vibe from Godric. He still never explained why he was at the FoS in the first place...I found it odd that Eric never asked. Godric looks weary of the fact that the vamps have not evolved. He looks like he has had about enough.

Oh and how gross was the suflet scene? :monkey4

The suflet scene was very gross.
How about Jessica being a virgin for eternity? I didn't see that coming. :lol
I think Erik will bring Godric back to town with him after the explosion and Godric once healed will kill Maryann. Like he said he is older than Jesus so maybe he is strong enough to defeat her.
Jason is badass when it comes to his loyalty to his sister. His aim is dead on too. This episode seemed flat while I was watching it but at the end it all came flooding in and I saw the depth of it. Not one episode this season dissappointed. I think this is the best show out now.

The strangest line from this episode came from the church drill sgnt. Godric was strangling him and about to break his neck and the drill sgnt says "Godric...ITS ME". As if they had some close relationship.

That almost makes me think that it was not that Godric LET them take him prisoner...but was on friendly terms or had some sort of agreement. If Godric had been a prisoner simply because he wouldnt fight back...the drill sgnt wouldnt have tried to use the "Godric its ME" line.

So maybe godric wanted to die...or maybe he made an agreement with them. In a biblical sense he was willing to become the vampire jesus. The savior of his race that was going to die for all of thier sins in a religious ceremony of sorts.

In fact jesus was brought up in his house and he said "I am actually older then your jesus. I would have loved to meet him but I was not there". In a metaphoric sense I think he was pointing out that the vampire he is today didnt exist back then and he would love to go back to the begining with the same understanding of the world he now has.
