Well unless Rachel Evan Wood is lying.. I could have sworn she said that her character was a 400 year old Queen. Nvm, found an article and it says this:

Sources confirm to me exclusively that True Blood creator Alan Ball has tapped Evan Rachel Wood to play the pivotal role of Sophie-Anne, the vampire Queen of Louisiana!

Who dat, you ask? She’s a 500-year-old vampire from France who is charming, wily, ruthless and wise. She’s a consummate diplomat who has (or had) many of history’s most famous people on speed dial. And here is the link to said piece https://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/04/22/true-blood-scoo/

The Queen is younger than Godric and Eric. Political power isn't just about physical power, so while older vamps are physically stronger, they aren't necessarily in charge. Makes sense.

Micheal, you've read most of the books right? Im just curious but is Bubba, the "famous" vamp
Elvis?

He shifts his body into a supernatural realm and his consciousness remains in our world in the form he chooses. Sam the human is at least 6-7 times more massive than Sam the dog too.

I really feel cheated by Godric - he could have been a great continuing character.

And poor Jessica - nothing worse than an eternal virgin!
Makes sense to me, now if he changes into something bigger I'd have a problem with that. :D

I loved Godric too, but I'd imagine that after 2,000 years anyone would get tired of living.

I love Jessica's character and I'm really liking her and Hoyt's relationship, it's a nice change of pace to the craziness of the rest of the show.

I did however love Lafayette kicking Eggs ass. :rock :lol
I was cheering during that scene!! :woo

...And how funny was it to see the Newlins bickering during the interview? :lol
That was great, poor Sarah is sick of Steve's ^^^^! :lol

Yep. Wish he was on the show, but I'm sure they're worried about...issues.

I don't really think there would be a problem with a fictional interpretation of a real life public figure (Bubba hotep fer instance). Although there might be a little backlash from his fans.

Yes, but this version is addle brained, prefers to kill and eat cats, not to mention the whole vampire thing. I'm sure Charlaine Harris never used his name for exactly that reason, since it's certainly copyrighted and trademarked up the ass. While his image might be a bit more lax, what with all the impersonators, I'm sure that if the estate didn't like what it was seeing, they could make things difficult for them.

Not that I agree, just saying that I'm not surprised they left him out.

My friend said this is excellent and may make me rethink about Buffy/Angel being the best vampire show on TV... ever. Anyone who was a fan of Buffy/Angel can vouch for this?

IMO Buffy/Angel are kiddie ^^^^ compared to this, True Blood blows both of those shows out of the water.

What an awesome epsiode!!

It's official, Sookie has powers of some kind.

The Jason, Sam and Andy scenes were hilarious! :lol

I can't wait to see the Queen!!

A great episode, but why was it was only 46 minutes long?! I couldn't believe it ended when it did.

Oh snap! I didn't know she was gonna be in this show!! Sweet!!

It was a funny episode....rednecks make me lawl!

Dude I know! I was like, Why! :lol:banghead

Two more left! Then bring on US of Tara!

Well, that's because they're dragging out the story to make it through two more episodes...they could have finished it next week, obviously. The weird thing is that there was plenty of potential material to introduce, especially if they want to follow the third book for the third season. I suspect they may deviate the most from that book, because they a) haven't introduced the weres and b) don't have Bubba, who played a key role.

I'm interested in seeing where they are going with Sookie. She is, uh, 'special' beyond the obvious, but is this thing with Mary Ann how they plan on introducing it? And will they try to explain it, or just leave it for a later season?

BTW, I think that Bill was suprised when he see's Sophie Ann, because she'll be feeding on someone that looks a lot like Sookie... :D

Ok so it wasn't just me who was like wtf!!! at 9:46 pm. They always run a full hour and last night cut us off 14 minutes short. It was a great episode and at 9:45 I was like woohoo we still have 15 minutes left and then a minute later was like no the F they didn't :lol :monkey2

Great episode. I wonder if that was their introduction of sookie being part
fairy
....Should be an interesting final 2 episodes. I think that Sookie is going to lay the smackdown on Mary Anne.

It was odd though, if Mary Anne is some immortal powerful being, then how would she NOT know what kind of being Sookie is (or at least part).....
