Your assuming it's set in stone - I wouldn't go that far. Like I said, while they follow the plot in general, smaller details shift. I'm betting they stick with *edit*, because of how they set her up in this season (and she wasn't in book 2 at all) to be the crazy psycho that can't be without him. Seems pretty clear from the show so far that she's the most likely suspect, as long as you assume that they were making Eric way, way too obvious. I did go back and put spoiler tags around it though, in case knowing what happened in the books is too much for folks.

Unless of course they pull something completely out of left field, like the previous post about the weres. They haven't done it so far, but it's possible. I really dislike the third book, so the less the show is like it the better.

Not really assuming anything, I am just taking your comment for what it was. If the show follows a pattern, it is that the entire next season is set up by the last 20 minutes of the current last episode. If they follow the plot in general, and the entire 3rd season will follow the kidnapping storyline, I would bet money that your statement will end up being correct.

Oh well, not like that will have been the last cliffhanger that True Blood throws at us.

By the way, you might want to spoiler this post as well, because you throw the name out there again...

Well if you look at the shows past. They set up the entire 2nd season off of one scene in the 1st season when Tara had her "demon" exorcised. So if they hold to that pattern and continue to shift away from the books then nothing is spoiled until it is revealed next season. They could take something incidental (like the little girl with black eyes) and base the whole plot around it. Which is why I am saying werewolves. They haven't brought up a supernatural without at least showing one except for them. Demons, shifters, vamps (obviously), telepaths, Sookie (whatever she is). The only thing we are certain of is that there are no other supernaturals in the Town...yet.

I just found this. This is an interview with Alan Ball about Season 3. It says there are no spoilers but read at your own risk (I read it):

Season 3 hints

The inclusion of the Debbie Pelt character will be great, and it means we'll see Alcide. Can't wait to see who they cast as him! I'm betting the "some characters you won't see much of" is Bill and Tara. Bill, well, because he's kidnapped. Tara, because I just hope so - I've had enough of her for awhile. All we need is her whining on about Eggs and blaming Andy, etc.

Thank god Eggs is gone, I didn't like him. AND I'm glad Maryanne is gone. Chick was damn annoying. Good finale but all in all I think I liked the 1st season more.

Watched it again and that brough up a question. Sookie and Jason are brother/sister, but how come he went all black eyes while she didn't??? I'm thinking

A) They aren't blood related
B) Only half-related (perhaps the faerie is Sookie's father and not Jasons???)
C) She had some recessive power in her that perhaps Jason doesn't have
D) Somehow, being with another supernatural being, Bill, awakened her recessive power????

I'm leaning towards B.....

I'd pick "c". Jason is clearly attractive to the opposite sex, with an allure that goes beyond just looks. Genetically he has enough of what Sookie has to give him that quality, but it didn't go any further than that. Likewise, Hadley is attractive, especially to vamps (why else would Sophie-Anne have her as her own?) and Sophie-Anne knows what Sookie is. She knows this because of the taste of Hadley's blood, and that's why she asked Eric if he had tasted her yet. Hadley also has enough for Sophie-Anne to pick up on it, but not enough to be 'special'. So the extra specialness (outside of the mind reading, which may or may not be related) is genetic, but doesn't appear or manifest in everyone in the family with the same intensity.

Finally saw the finale...I have to be honest and say that I wasn't blown away....probably because they hardly showed Eric.:monkey3 :lol

I'm so glad the story of Maryann has come to an end.....Eggs, I really don't care either way. He wasn't a very interesting character to me and I am getting a little burned out on Tara. I'm hoping we get a little break from her character next season.

I also have to say, I'm not feeling the Sophie-Anne character. I don't know if it's the script....or the actress portraying her...or both. It just seemed like she was trying too hard. Hopefully I will feel differently once next season starts....or else I could see her turning into another Maryann and annoying the hell out of me.

I liked the finale but it would have been better if Maryanne was in the entire thing. As much destruction as she caused, she deserves it.

I'm really liking them too...and of course Eric. :D

I at first thought that Eric was the one to grab Bill by the next, but if it was, he couldn't hold the silver either (unless they had gloves, don't remember that part)

It would be interesting if a Werewolf was the one who kidnapped Bill; an interesting way to introduce them into the show

Yes, they were wearing gloves. They made it pretty obvious, but it could be intentially misleading.

While the weres capturing Bill sounds interesting, I'm doubting it's them. That's a war they wouldn't want to start, as they'd be on the losing end.

The finally was really good! In many ways it was better than the season 1 finale. But I have to say that Sam Merlot once again saving the day is getting a bit over done. Also when the heck is he going to have a happy ending?
