Yeah the second book was really dry in the middle. It picked up in the end though. I still haven't read the 3rd and 4th.

Yeah, it did pick up at the end, but even then it felt like I'd gone through the whole thing only to end up with the main characters **basically** at the same point as the end of the first book. I decided to give up after that :lol

Well at least you tried it before you judged it. :duff

I've read the first two books and have just started the third! Saying it's good would be a lie, but it's not bad either. Let's say it can't compare to Anne Rice, but it's quite enjoyable all the same and the charecters are attractive. I still have to see the movie though!

I haven't read any of the books, but I just got done watching the first installment last weekend, and honestly, I really enjoyed it. Now, I want to go out and read all of the novels. I look forward to seeing this franchise grow.

Is it true that the author of "Twilight" has never read Bram Stoker's Dracula or seen an actual vampire movie? Because if so... wow.

Yep that is true. She had a dream one night about her sitting in a meadow with a vampire. She then woke up and starting writing.

I watched it on Blu-ray this weekend with my wife since she's reading the series. I thought the movie was good, but not enough for me to read the series.

I had a dream I ran around a forest, and watched a 50 year old spanish woman throw her baby at a monster, just to run away.

Doesnt mean I should write a book aboot that. :lol

I believe that is true. She also has never actually been to Forks, Washington. Wrote everything from information she found on the internet and through Google Maps/Earth.

Anyway my wife is a "Twitard" :lol although they call themselves Twilighters in some realms and goes comatose when this is on. I am interested to see what is in store since they are rushing these films out like they'll go bad in a year or two and the director of "New Moon" isn't even coming back for the third so it'll be different direction for all three. It has the severe possibilities of going straight downhill at this point.

The new director will suffice. He directed The Golden Compass and that was fine.

Yeah but I would say the feel and tone of The Golden Compass is quite different than what Hardwicke did, not to mention some of the better parts of the film are things she herself put into the script.

To make things even more interesting Drew Barrymore is heavily lobbying to direct the third installment....talk about your full twists.

By all means. :lol

I also had this exchange with that spanish woman...

"Hey, I'm sorry I you lost your baby, want to make another one?"

No lie. I dont even know.

Actually, you should. In fact, I would read that one first. :lecture
