I have to say, the Rex looks like it may have the coolest base out of all the statues (Deinosuchus doesn't count :D). The mossy forest floor, a perfect stalking ground for a grizzled carnivore.

Agreed, though it appears not just the base but the T.rex itself is the most fantastically detailed. You can easily imagine the moss-covered trunks and detritus giving way under his massive bulk as he surveys his domain. The date cannot come soon enough!

Well guys I have had no choice but to cancel my Rex maquette :monkey2 I know I know....

As sad and as hard as it was to cancel him, it is for a good cause...I'm a big photography nut, and wanted to upgrade from my lil Powershot...I didn't have enough money to afford both the camera and the Rex, So i decided to use the money to get my Canon XSi....

Like I said, it was reallly hard clicking that cancel button and I admit it hurt, so I'm gonna need a lil moral support, especially seeing you guys have it in hand :monkey2 but I'm looking forward to getting my new camera and once I'm able to, I'll get the Rex somehow later down the line...I'm still gonna be collecting Dinosauria of course, so hopefully I'll be able to afford future releases....

So there you have it guys, I look for seeing your guys pics and like I said, i hope to be able to get the next release...

Well at least you're getting something good out of the deal. I'm sure you'll be able to get it later, thefirst vs. dio ex is still available on second chance, and I think the carno was too.

I'm pretty excited as our first son (and first child) is due to be born early December. Our "theme" is dinosaurs, so it'll be really cool that Daddy and son both have dinosaurs in their rooms. :lol

I canceled mine too, and got back in the WL. It was just bad timing for me now. I hope to get a shot at the EX someday. :(

Audible gasp! I'm sorry to hear that JC. As Agent said, I'm sure you'll be able to get one at some point, and if you had to make a choice at least it's for a subject you're quite passionate about.

Glad you're passing on an enthusiasm for dinosaurs! Congrats, my friend! :banana

Too bad to hear about cancelling the T-rex Ex. - I have a feeling I will need to cancell some future Dinosauria orders, hopefully not. I was wondering regarding the way the numbering goes, do the first few (for example 1, 2 & 3) statues or maquettes that SS produce, do you think they keep those or release it to the public ?

They ship off to whomever orders, usually artist's proof pieces are reserved for their offices, etc. It's a crapshoot as to which you get at any given time, and you're just as likely to get #1 as you are to get #150.

:rock

I am picking up a special locking curio tomorrow for my boys' room to house "their" Dinosauria collection; they love it and it is just so cool to have a shared hobby with them - congrats!

:drink

I had to press the evil "C" button too...

Really wanted this one, but the funds were just simply already accounted for (damn 1/6 fig addiction).

I have just the opposite situation. Every other order is on the line and Dinosauria is the priority.

Funny how we all have our priority list. Dinosauria is at the top of mine as well.

This needs to ship soon. My cat has discovered the empty spot next to the Carno and thinks it makes a nice bed. :horror

I've found that, even if you're a man of thin to average stature like myself, spreading your arms and running toward a cat in a lumbering manner as if you were a fat man puts the feline into a panicked flight mode immediately. The "fat man dance", as I've come to call it, works every time. Saves your cat physical trauma, and saves you space for his majesty when he arrives. Just spread your arms wide and do your best to impersonate Fat Bastard chasing Mini-Me in that second Austin Powers film. Victory.

:lol Good to know I'm not the only one with a cat that likes to endanger the collectibles. I put some double sided tape on the shelf for now. That should take care of it. But thanks for the advice, I shall keep those in mind should he find another space to share with something.

When I notice one of the cats near one of my expensive, breakable collectibles, I treat it like a bomb that could go off at any time. Or a hostage situation: "Hey kitty, hey there. Hey, easy, easy... nobody's going to do anything, everything's cool, let's just talk..."

seems like your cats are gonna be endangering your stones a bit longer! hehehe! the t-rex maquette's release date was moved to october, just saw it on sideshow's site. might be recieving it on january next year here in the philippines! the waiting torture for us, the pleasure of harassing for your felines! hehehe!
