Bottom line Fedor needs to go to the UFC. The best football player's join the NFL the best basketball players join the NBA same goes for fighters and the UFC. To me Strikeforce, Dream and all the others are just stepping stones to the UFC. Not that some fighters from those organizations aren't capable of coming to the UFC and wrecking. That's just my view on it.

Not going to happen. He'll keep his contract with Strikeforce and cost them money until the organization crumbles.

Man...so bummed about Wandy not fighting next weekend.

I am too. I dont want to see Leben fight again so soon.

I don't think Brock would easily defeat Fedor but it is possible. Brock would just have to watch out for Fedor's relentless armbars lol and of course Fedor’s stand up. Man I'd love to see that fight one day…though your right it probably will never happen. Here’s to hoping though

Brock would do his best to run over Fedor, lay on him and pound his face. A fight I'd like to see.

Yeah MMA is a tough sport and its critics are tough on fighters as well. As much as I love Fedor, he will fall eventually, its just a matter of all those other people...will they remain fans or will they jump ship. I think thats why alot of fighters are starting to not care about the fans because of the bandwagon style ups and downs. Even if its a "lucky" punch as I stated eventually the best go down and its just a matter of if they get back up and try again or do they retire. Either way I have certain fighters that Im a fan of and when they win Im there and when they get rocked and knocked out cold, lol im there as well.

@ Daikkenaurora - like you my friend im here for good fights.

It happened with a bunch of Machida fans. As soon as he lost, people were calling him a bum and saying his style was garbage... the same people were saying how they have been following him for years.

True. In fact, it happened As soon as the fight finished. There was so many people booing him and talking trash. And of course, since I was wearing his walkout shirt from the prior fight, I was catching crap too.

yep thats happened to me before also man, i wore a quinton shirt and people were acting like If i was the one fighting in the octagon... :dunno

I dont think he really cares about rankings or fighting in the UFC

But he DOES care about his record because Fedor just recently stated that he wants to retire undefeated. Which is the main reason why I don't think he wants to fight in the UFC.

Yup.. and that makes absolutely no sense because even with the loss Machida is still the #2 LHW in the world. :slap

Not to mention (regardless if you agree or not) he still holds a win over the current #1 LHW + Current UFC LHW Champ Shogun, a brutal KO win over the #3 LHW Rashad Evans and another KO win over the #9 LHW Thiago Silva.

As for the rest..

#4 LHW Quinton Jackson has ducked Machida now two times. First before the Rashad fight (and it was a title shot) and now again after both guys lost recently. That's the fight the UFC wants and offered Rampage and apparently he declined. We'll see if that changes though.

#5 LHW Forrest Griffen. Honestly don't see him doing much.

#6 LHW lil Nog. This would be a good fight. Still see lil Nog losing though.

#7 and #8 LHW's King Mo and Mousasi. Those guys fight in Strikeforce but I can't see either of them challenging Machida (especially after their horrifically boring, uninspiring 5 round snoozefest).

The former #10 LHW Cane just lost to Cyrille Diabate so taking over that spot should be Jon Jones (with a win over the janitor).

Other than Shogun, the only LHW fighters I see giving Machida a fight would be Jones or lil Nog. And I think ultimately, Machida would beat lil Nog. The Jones fight is a toss up (Jones is still a mystery IMO).

Even if he wanted too, the other half of M1 wants co-promotions and PPV cuts and all kind of stipulations...which is not going to happen as long as Dana is alive. I like Fedor, but he doesnt deserve special treatment.

Fedor already lost, how can he retire undefeated????

You think Fedor is in his Prime?????

Fedor v Lesnar..who cares. Hopefully Lesnar gets Ko'd by Carwin, then he'll be 4-2. I rather see Carwin, Cain or Dos Santos fight Fedor. But until the UFC establishes a "true" HW champ I dont care to see Fedor go there. The Overeem fight can be interesting.

I hear ya, id rather watch JDS and Cain...thats what on my want list. If they fight each other, if they fight other people I dont care i just want to see them fight. Like I said I like Fedor, but he just doesnt fight enough anymore.

I wouldn't give M-1 that cut either, Fedor needs to leave M1 but I dont see that happening. I think the problem now with Fedor is he's getting older. if he wins then the fight with Overeem should happen, and that would be the last on his contract with SF. So until that contract is up the Fedor/UFC talks are worthless, but the UFC is finally building its own HW so atleast they got something going.

IMO they only reason they're asking for that is because Fedor doesn't want to fight in the UFC. If you remember in the original talks, there was no mention of Co-Promotion. The big sticking point originally was Fedor competing in Sambo while also fighting in the UFC.

Once the UFC conceded and said that was fine i.e. Fedor could finally fight in the UFC suddenly yet another thing was thrown out to prevent it: Co-Promotion.

Bottomline: I don't think he wants to fight in the UFC because he wants to retire undefeated and obviously cares about his record (again he recently said that) so him and his people are doing everything they can to avoid the UFC. Because he would not win every fight there. Might win more than he would lose, but he definitely would not stay undefeated. And technically he's not undefeated anyways. lol.

Funny thing is, if Fedor lost a fight in Strikeforce I honestly think THEN he would finally agree to fight in the UFC. Only problem: I doubt the UFC would even care at that point.

And the longer he refuses to fight in the UFC the more irrelevant he'll get. Because regardless if he beats Werdum I think the winner of Lesnar/Carwin vs. Cain will legitimately take over the #1 HW Spot.

The UFC HW division is really at an interesting point. With Cain, Carwin, Dos Santos, even Nelson:lol. When that all gets sorted out and theres a True Bad A$$, that will be one Bad HW. I just hope it doesn't end up like the LHW division with the belt changing ever fight.

His words, not mine.

From the conference call to promote his fight vs. Werdum
"I'd like to finish my career without any losses and at that point we'll see what God has planned for me" - Fedor

Dude he's 33 about to be 34 and fights twice a year if that. Stop acting like he's suddenly a 100.

Fedor already lost, and theres no way he's scared to fight in the UFC. At those so called talks who was the UFC HW Couture. The real problem is the UFC never had a legit HW fighter, and they still don't. Give it some time.

The real problem is Fedor lives in Russia, its a whole different world, he's a hero there. Him fighting in the UFC is not going to make or break him.

Dana will try to sign him after his last fight, but I just know how much longer Fedor wants to fight. If the Overeem fight happens it may be his last. Maybe a lose can change some things.

where flying here.

Anyway 33 is old. But I guess not in MMA, in boxing it was, I guess Couture changed that. Chuck hasn't though.

It doesn't matter who was champ. Seriously think about that statement.

Who was champ in Bodog? Right.. No one.

How about in Affliction? No one. His first fight was for the fabricated WAMMA belt.

Strikeforce? Overeem who hadn't defended the title in 2 years. And even then Fedor didn't fight him. :duh

Ugh.. first off him living in Russia is irrelevant. I'm married to a Russian woman so save any half-assed attempts at trying to explain their culture to me. Second, Fedor is NOT a hero there. He's not even famous in Russia. FYI: Sambo and MMA are NOT huge in Russia.

It's different in Boxing because of all the Amateur fights guys have. Some Boxers by age 25 already have 100-200 Amateur fights + 30-40 Pro fights under their belt. Completely different in MMA.

And since you like fighter quotes so much, according to Bas Rutten the prime age for an MMA fighter is 30 - 34 yrs old. Fedor is 33 about to be 34.

Anderson Silva is 35 and he's been fighting just as long as Fedor has (May 2000) and only has 4 less fights. You really think he's not in his Prime!?

Machida will always be one of my faves, win, lose, or draw.
