Wrong. The reason the card fell apart is because Affliction made a last minute deal to renew their sponsorship deal with the UFC.

Typical non-sense from a paid M-1 Global poster aka WASEDO.

Yeah and they also don't test for steroids. Pretty sweet deal for the only guy in MMA history that's tested positive three times. :duh

Whats the name of that rap forum your a MOD on again, I lost the link.

The card fell apart becuase Fedor turned down a fight with Vitor:thud:

Since some people are obviously slow in here let's try again.

Barnett tests positive for Roids (for the third time in his career). Vitor steps up to replace Barnett and challenge Fedor since he was already in shape and scheduled to fight on the same card. Fedor and M-1 Global turn down that fight. M-1 and Fedor want to fight Brett Rogers instead. Affliction contacts Strikeforce for permission (Rogers is under contract with them). Strikeforce agrees. Brett Rogers vs. Fedor is good to go for the main event at Affliction: Trilogy.

Affliction secretly negotiates a deal with the UFC to get out of the MMA promotion business in exchange for a new sponsorship deal with the UFC.

Affliction announces the card is cancelled. Rumors start that Affliction is back with the UFC as a sponsor. Couple days/weeks later it's confirmed.

It's irrelevant whether or not Affliction went under because of them re-negotiating their sponsorship deal with the UFC or because their PPV was pulled because their sponsor pulled out due to the last minute change of Brett Rogers instead of Barnett. The facts remain:

1. Affliction lost millions promoting those MMA shows.

2. Fedor ducked Vitor Belfort.

3. Brett Rogers vs. Fedor was good to go. So Affliction could've rescheduled that event the next month, etc.

Unless you're on Fedor's nuts or a paid M-1 Global/Fedor forum poster it's easy to get.

Honestly I could care less, no hard feelings. I'm done posting here for the day, its like watching "The View", I been on here all-day.

Sucks I'm going to miss the Lesnar Fight, I was thinking of ordering to. Just got plans that day. But I'll be posting the Carwin cheers the next day or so.

No need to apologize Fedor... but please apologize for not having a hot translator.

Fedor didn't knock Werdum down. You can see in the GIF he lands one punch to the chest (near Werdum's armpit) then two glancing forearm shots to the top/back of Werdum's head, then a left hook that's completely blocked then finally the last punch that misses entirely because Werdum was already slipping to the ground.

You can see Werdum actually slips a couple times.

Not to mention Werdum, as horrible and pathetic as his punching is in that exchange (head down, punching blindly lol) actually lands the better shot: First right hand clips Fedor right on the temple.

Werdum still hasn't learned about that punching style (head down, punching blindly).

I hear ya, Fedor lost...Im kinda glad he lost so we can stop talking and speculating all the what ifs. Its over and hopefully he comes back better and if he retires then we all move on regardless.

MMA is still MMA with or without Fedor. Now I cant wait to see Carwin vs Brock.

Strikefarce at its finest.

These idiots are actually talking about an immediate rematch between Fedor and Werdum. :duh

Fedor said he wants to fight Werdum again. Werdum said he wants to fight Fedor again because he feels like fighting Overeem would be like taking a step backwards. BOTH guys have now ducked Overeem, who's the F'n champ of the company they BOTH fight in. Classic.

Fedor vs. Werdum was set up as a #1 contender match with the winner to fight Overeem for the Strikeforce HW title. But since Fedor lost, now all of a sudden there might be an immediate rematch for a fight that ended in 69 seconds with Fedor tapping out to a submission!? Seriously!? You know damn well if Fedor would've won in 69 seconds by Sub NO ONE would be talking about an immediate rematch. It's pathetic.

I don't understand why Strikeforce continues to do stupid ass ish like this. You'd think they would've learned from past mistakes but they continue to do things that make their own company look bad and 2nd rate.

They screwed over their MW champ Jake Shields and pushed him out because they wanted to promote Dan Henderson instead. Jake Shields beat Hendo. Jake Shields is still their MW champ. And now Jake Shields is trying to get into the UFC and leave SF. What a surprise.

Strikeforce contracted Overeem to fight Buentello for their newly created HW title and after Overeem won the belt believe it or not, Strikeforce never re-signed him even though he was their champ. They just had him contracted to fight Buentello. So after that he was a free agent WITH their HW title. He didn't actually sign a new contract with Strikeforce until a couple months before the Rogers fight. That's crazy.

They have catchweight fights to set up #1 contenders in two different divisions (Babalu-LHW and Lawler-MW) and even then it backfires because Babalu (who won) turns down the LHW title shot post-fight in the cage.

Strikeforce says one thing and does another. Even Scott Coker originally said the winner of Werdum vs. Fedor would be fighting Overeem for their HW title. And now he's saying a Werdum vs. Fedor rematch is more likely. It's sad.

I see what your saying Devil, but at this point its not even about the belt anymore, its more about Coker making money and if he can create a rematch and bring more people in then he will. Its like someone said, unfortunately for Werdum his win is overshadowed by Fedors loss. I personally want to see Werdum fight Overreem then Fedor can fight whoever leading back to the belt.

As of right now since its fresh, I think Strikeforce is going to try and nickel and dime everything they can before the Fedor train takes off for good. With Strikeforce theres more politics/money tied up in Fedor that they really dont care about who holds the HW belt. Just my opinion.

True, but that's bad business because in the long run they're hurting their own company. Fedor doesn't fight for Strikeforce, he fights for M-1 Global. Werdum is already talking about wanting to get back into the UFC and fight Brock Lesnar once his contract is up. Fedor only has one co-promoted fight left with Strikeforce. And Overeem wasn't re-signed until shortly before the Rogers fight and instead of fighting Fedor he had to fight Rogers (who Fedor had just TKO'ed). And now neither Fedor nor Werdum want to fight him. And apparently Scott Coker is cool with having his HW champ Overeem sitting out once again.

Werdum has already had 3 fights in Strikeforce. Unless he signed for 6 fights or something he's free to leave after his next fight. Fedor can leave after his next fight. And Overeem could give up the belt and leave (with no ramifications) if he doesn't fight Werdum like he was told.

So for one payday (which realistically isn't all that much) Strikeforce is putting itself in a situation where they could lose ALL 3 of their top HW's.

Just really stupid IMO.

That is kind of dumb. Sure if both guys want a rematch go for it, but not right away. Make it 6 months or even a year down the road. Especially when the champ is sitting on his ass twiddling his thumbs waiting for a challenger.

Yeah I agree as well, I dont understand why they keep making Overeem wait. Overeems another one, belt or not I just want to see him fight.

As for Werdum, Im sure Dana will want to bring him back also, with the marketing obviously being the one guy to actually finish Fedor...then he'll get KO'ed by JDS again, lol.

Either way Fedor losing throws a huge wrench in Strikeforce's plans. I think they should let it play out, get going with Werdum vs Overeem and let Fedor have a fight against whoever and then (if he comes out the victor) put him against the winner of Werdum vs Overeem and that will at least kind of cover all bases. Then again as stated, with all the weird contract stipulations, someone could jump ship before hand.

They should put Werdum vs. Overeem (HW Title) and Fedor vs. Antonio Silva on the same card. Throw in Cris Cyborg (FW Title) vs. Erin Toughill for good measure.

Another move made by Strikeforce that shows just how inexperience in doing business they are. I dont mind a rematch but whats Overeem supposed to do? Who does he fight now? Like hairlesswookiee said, I guess he'll just sit on his ass and twiddle is thumbs.
