Strikefarce at its finest.
These idiots are actually talking about an immediate rematch between Fedor and Werdum.
Fedor said he wants to fight Werdum again. Werdum said he wants to fight Fedor again because he feels like fighting Overeem would be like taking a step backwards. BOTH guys have now ducked Overeem, who's the F'n champ of the company they BOTH fight in. Classic.
Fedor vs. Werdum was set up as a #1 contender match with the winner to fight Overeem for the Strikeforce HW title. But since Fedor lost, now all of a sudden there might be an immediate rematch for a fight that ended in 69 seconds with Fedor tapping out to a submission!? Seriously!? You know damn well if Fedor would've won in 69 seconds by Sub NO ONE would be talking about an immediate rematch. It's pathetic.
I don't understand why Strikeforce continues to do stupid ass ish like this. You'd think they would've learned from past mistakes but they continue to do things that make their own company look bad and 2nd rate.
They screwed over their MW champ Jake Shields and pushed him out because they wanted to promote Dan Henderson instead. Jake Shields beat Hendo. Jake Shields is still their MW champ. And now Jake Shields is trying to get into the UFC and leave SF. What a surprise.
Strikeforce contracted Overeem to fight Buentello for their newly created HW title and after Overeem won the belt believe it or not, Strikeforce never re-signed him even though he was their champ. They just had him contracted to fight Buentello. So after that he was a free agent WITH their HW title. He didn't actually sign a new contract with Strikeforce until a couple months before the Rogers fight. That's crazy.
They have catchweight fights to set up #1 contenders in two different divisions (Babalu-LHW and Lawler-MW) and even then it backfires because Babalu (who won) turns down the LHW title shot post-fight in the cage.
Strikeforce says one thing and does another. Even Scott Coker originally said the winner of Werdum vs. Fedor would be fighting Overeem for their HW title. And now he's saying a Werdum vs. Fedor rematch is more likely. It's sad.
