You mean Rashad Evans has to deal with Shogun's submission game and sweeps next year? :wink1:

And Shogun's fists meeting Rashad's glassy chin.

Bones ... that kid will be the next Anderson Silva. Give him 2-3 more years and he'll be considered the best pound for pound fighter. Just amazing athlete.

He has the skills. Just needs the experience.

Ohhhh! nice fights there.

Mir is gonna TKO big Nog agian, hope to see lil Nog win but it's gonna be a tough fight for him.

Sadly yes. :( Hopefully Big Nog watches the Carwin fight and learns how Mir likes to fold under pressure.

You mean after the Evans/Machida interim title fight, Shogun is going to smash the Dragon again. Shogun is having knee surgey and will out a while.

Evans said he doesn't want to fight Machida for an interim title. I wonder why!?

Oh yeah.. :lol

Hey just think, if Big Nog wins we'll get to see Big Nog vs. Mir III. :slap

The Dos Santos v Nelson fight may be interesting, Nelson as fat and puggy as he is, has held his own. But I hope Dos Santos KO's him.

I like the optimism, but Shogun previously hasn't performed well when coming off of long layoffs or having his knees surgically repaired. I mean I hope he submits or smashes Evans, but Evans can take guys down and grind them.

Good point.

with the surgery, there prolly will be an interim belt now just based on the Brock situation, and in that case, Rashad wont even end up getting his title shot, but imo Machida doesnt deserve another shot at the belt so quickly.

I dont know if Bones would be willing, but if he wins his next fight, why not give him a true test in Rashad? I know some ppl dont agree, but I dont see anyone else deserving a shot at a interim title. With the ease that he wins his fights, I dont know why Dana gave Brock such a quick title shot, but not Bones. I know they have trained together before and what not, but if I were in his shoes, I wouldnt pass up a title shot just cause it might make my friend butt hurt. Chances are, if they are true friends, nothing would change that, so make it happen Dana!

No I agree, Machida needs at least 2 solid wins before getting another title shot.

But I'm saying, if Shogun is out and the UFC doesn't want to strip him (I'm sure they don't/won't) then they need an interim title in the mean time. Rashad is the #1 contender. So he's in. But if not Machida, then who faces Evans?

Rampage - Evans just beat him.
Griffen - Just had Shoulder surgery + 1-2 in his last 3 fights.
Lil Nog - Fighting at UFC 119 vs. Bader
Thiago - Fighting at UFC 117 vs. Boetsch + Last fight = a loss to Evans
Franklin - He's 2-1 at LHW with wins over Matt Hammil and Chuck Liddell. And a loss to Hendo.

???

Because he won't accept it. They train together.

your right, he prolly wont, but I wouldnt let that get in my way...........title shots dont come around all the time. I dont understand why a great fighter wouldnt want to be a champion; thats what makes the greats, so great, they are competetive and will fight anyone, anywhere. It will be interesting to see what Dana will do if Bones wins his next fight.

btw-since when do fighters have so much power? Dana is the boss isnt he? If he tells him to fight Rashad, he should fight Rashad.

Didnt the same thing happen with Kos and Fitch? Dana wanted them to fight for the #1 contender spot and they both said no so Dana let them fight other people.

Yeah i say why not. If Rashad wins then that proves he has gotten that much better as a fighter. Atleast we would get to see Bones fight someone ranked.

Also Silva got a title shot really fast.

I have no idea, I just dont get it.............I know these guys dont want to hurt their friends, but this is their job, to fight.

I don't get it either. Babalu turned down a SF LHW title shot because him and Mo are friends/training partners. Fitch has already stated that if Kos wins the UFC WW Title he'll be moving to MW because they're friends/training partners and won't fight. And I imagine Bones would do the same.

Seems stupid to me. :dunno

Doesn't work like that. They're under a contract to fight, but not WHO they have to fight. That gets negotiated as fights come up. The UFC offers, the fighters/managers decline or accept. The alternative is the UFC fires the fighter. And in most cases, that's not possible. You really think the UFC wants Jones or Evans or Fitch or Kos leaving and fighting for the competition? NOOOO.. :lol

I've seen plenty of other people who train fight. The guys that really want it and are hungry dont care. Those other guys... not so much.

Now Babalu doing that is just lame and so is Fitch leaving the diversion so he doesnt have to fight his friend. I really dont get it.
