Yeah pesronally I think Rashad is a little peeved about the fact that hes the one that should have been fighting Shogun, but instead he got hurt, UFC and everyone passed him by leaving him in the dust and all the attention went to Jones. Again while Rashad sitting there probably thinking win or lose, that should have been him with all the media hype and the fans going crazy.

it was inevitable him and Jones would have to meet at some point. Jones seems like the kind of guy that will fight anybody regardless of friendship, while Rashad says he will move to a different division, but then doesn't. Rashad just comes off hella jealous of Jones right now by some of the things he's said, can't blame him, but he will defn be the "bad guy" when they do fight cause the fans booed his ass the second he went into the octagon sat.

Cro Cop got cut.

And Marquardt is considering a run at WW. Not sure how that's even possible!?

Nate is huge at 185 as it is, i guess he will have to change coach's like Rashad is if GSP and him ever meet :lol

Nate says not too long ago he was walking around at the same weight as GSP, so it's not too crazy.

Really excited for the Jones era, and I'm thinking this era is actually legit (not like Machida's or Shogun's :lol)

Yeah that was funny. He was all serious and then when he got booed he started smiling like "WTF!? Why are you booing me!?" :lol:lol:lol

that's the first time i have seen Jones look as pissed as he looked too

i said long ago, the way he was beating guys wasn't a fluke. We still haven't seen him hit in how many fights? It's pretty incredible when you think about it.

I think Joe had mentioned it before. The guy is pretty elusive. Its still hard to believe that he has only been training in MMA for 3 years. :thud:

I'm sure Rashad is like "Damn.... I gotta fight this guy?". Rashad better wear a diamond studded chin strap.

I dont like Rashad but I do give him a chance against Jones. Rashad is very well rounded. Should be a good fight.

Jones is a freak. I thought Rua was the most well rounded fighter in that division, and that Jones was being given that shot too prematurely (eating my words, and glad I am. Big Jones fan. Phil 4:13), but Jones WALKED through him. Rua was completely dominated in every aspect of that fight, and did absolutely nothing. This is the guy who handed Machida his first losing round in the UFC, handled him in that controversial lose, and then dominated him the second time.

As long as Jones doesn't pull a GSP vs Serra 1 and take anyone lightly, he is going to be the real deal until another, well, Jon Jones comes along and challenges his style.

Rashad has his work cut out for him for that fight. If he looks like he has since getting stomped by Machida (looked too reluctant and "play-it-safe" against a half-assed fight with Rampage), and Jones does what he's been doing, then it'll just be another one-sided beat down by Jones. But hey, all it takes is one shot to end a fight (just ask Serra after fighting carter, or Koschec after fighting Fickett).

Why dont you like Rashad?

I don't like Rashad either. My deal with him is his classless show boating when he's winning, but what really set it for me was how immature he and Rampage both were on TUF. Neither one of those two cared less about those fighters. They just wanted to get under each others skin. Rashad also was so vocal about how he was sooooo for his guys, and how Rampage wasn't, but they were both just as guilty as the other, except Rampage wasn't pretending nearly as bad as Rashad was.

We must've been watching a different show.

Rashad came off as a fantastic coach to me(as well as to some of my friends that actually train here in Coconut Creek with American Top Team.
:dunno

Yeah I disagree with that. Rampage didn't care, Rashad did. Rashad made a team. Rampage had a bunch of dudes that ended up bonding because of the situation (constantly losing). They made their team on their own. Not Rampage.

Quinton is a great fighter but he sucked as a coach. Rashad, Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz are the 3 best coaches to ever be on TUF. IMHO.

I'm not sure if Rashad's amount of TUF wins should be credited to his coaching talents or Rampage's lack there of :lol

Rampage is a crap coach, there's no doubt about that. With that established, I'm not sure comparing TUF coach-offs to other sports is completely fair. Rashad out-coached Rampage. That's a fact, but I'm not certain it's a sure-fire litmus test of his coaching abilities, as he didn't coach against anyone BUT Rampage. I forget what fallacy that's called, but it's definitely one.

Rampage vs. Ken Shamrock for the title of worst coach in TUF history.

I still can't believe that one of Shammy's coaches that he brought to help him train the fighters was a dietitian.

lmao

I see what you're saying. But my opinion isn't just based on his season vs. Rampage. In general, Rashad did a better job than most coaches on TUF that I've seen (besides Tito and Chuck). It also helped that Rashad had a better coaching staff as well. :lol

Shane Carwin is gonna fight ADCC BJJ Champ Jon Olav Einemo @ 131. Kinda funny match-up since both guys only have 1 loss which also happens to be the only fights they had that went past the first round. All their other wins were 1st round stoppages.

I think Rampage was the worst coach in TUF history. But in his defense, he has said on numerous occasions that he is NOT a good coach. And he was waaaay more of a jerk on that season than Rashad was.

Were his guys of Jackson's camp? I remember some familiar faces on the primetime show that hyped the Rampage fight. While he and Jones may not have been great friends at all, it definitely sucks if he lost those guys due to the situation. They really came off as a functioning family unit. I agree with Dana that in the end Jackson's doesn't pay the bills and fighters should be willing to fight anyone, but it'd be a shame for him to have a falling out over what is essentially a business transaction.
