The final numbers are in for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s record-setting Saturday stop at Rogers Centre in Toronto. UFC 129 “St. Pierre vs. Shields” officially drew 55,724 fans for a live gate of $12.075 million, smashing both promotional and North American MMA records.

Over 12 Million!? That's crazy. Curious to see the PPV numbers.

i was dissapointed by GSP, he should have destroyed shields, jake loked terrified, he needs to stick to Bully Beat Down

Random stuff from last night:

For anyone curious about why Rogan kept telling people to take a shot if they were playing the UFC drinking game, Rogan mentioned that Goldie takes A LOT of piss breaks during the PPV broadcasts and that they should make a drinking game out of it. So every time he told viewers to take a shot it's because Goldie was off pissing leaving Joe alone to fill in with commentary until he returned. :lol

When GSP won you might've noticed some random dude putting on his belt (like Dana normally does). That was a MMA fan Dana picked to do the honors. I thought it was funny because he actually put the strap around GSP's rib cage. :lol

1st UFC PPV event since UFC 7 to run over the 3 hour PPV time slot. Thankfully it didn't cut off like UFC 7 though (which I rented). The main event was the tournament final between Marco Ruas and Paul Varelans and it sucked because I had to call the cable company and get the replay which showed the finale in full. Which meant I didn't get to see who won until 3+ hours later.

Bruce Buffer read the scorecard totals wrong for the Aldo/Hominick fight. The official scores were 48-45, 48-46, 49-46 for Aldo. But one of the scores Bruce read was 50-43 which made absolutely no sense.

Having been at last night's event in a section just beyond the floors I'd say not only was that the best [and loudest] live event I've ever witnessd, it was one of the best cards I can ever recall seeing....period. Only 5 of the 13 bouts went to a decision and two of those Aldo/Hominick and MacDonald /Diaz were the best two fights of the night. Two excellent submissions including a flying triange! Five KO's including a standing short elbow, a front kick, and a spinning backfist [which IMO should have been knockout of the night], and five first round victories. Outstanding card, outstanding night! :yess:

Yeah same here, beating a guy who hasn't lost in six years and doing so with only one eye for 3 1/2 rounds was very disappointing.

Unfortunately this didn't translate well for the PPV broadcast. Seemed really quiet for the most part.

Really? That was the loudest I ever heard the Rogers Centre. I bought one of those UFC radios to hear the broadcast and even on full blast there were times I couldn't hear Rogan and Goldberg. You could literally feel the place vibrating at times......

hahaha That is funny. thanks for the heads up on teh drinking game.

What a lucky guy. I saw the vblog Dana posts (or whoever posts) and remember hearing a guy asking if he could do it. Fantastic. And why do people hate Dana again?

I knew something was screwed up with what Buffer said. Maybe he was taking shots.

That is awesome bro. Glad you got to attend. Did you get a close look at Arianny's and Brittany's chest mountains?

Yeah, the guy was from northern Ontario [Fort Francis] about 18 hours from Toronto. He won two tickets, a flight, and hotel accomodations in some contest and during a Q&A session with Dana the day before the fight he stood up and mentioned how he noticed Dana was always having trouble putting the belts on the fighters after the matches and he asked if he could put the belt on GSP if he won his match. Dana was actually speechless for a minute, which was pretty funny, but after regaining his senses said ...sure, why not? :lol

I did get a view of the mountains...and they were magnificent. :drool Though I'd be lying if I said I was close as I would have liked to have been. :lol
