UFC 148 Silva vs. Sonnen II made $6,901,655 from the live gate and had a 925,000 PPV buy rate.

Yeah.. Dana White and the UFC lost a lot of money without GSP.



Anyways.. take it for what it's worth but after the loss JDS talked about going through some personal stuff that he felt F'd him up mentally during the fight. Well now that stuff has been made public: He split up with his wife of 10 years.

Cain was supposedly hurt for the first fight. Now JDS was going through the first steps of Divorce for the 2nd fight. Talk about drama.

So your basically comparing the 1st and 2nd best PPV buy of 2012. UFC would of made money if GSp was on UFC 147 which did 147,000 buys.

I'm saying the UFC made a crap load of money regardless.

No single fighter makes or breaks that company. That's why it's successful and has outlasted every other MMA promotion out there that DID rely on a single fighter to carry it (which coincidently was usually Fedor who single handedly ruined/bankrupted 3 MMA orgs).

But the same can't be said if the UFC lost Dana White.

It's simply: Would they have made more money with GSP competing in the latter half of 2011 into 2012? Sure. But did they lose money without him? Absolutely not.

Yeah I liked the way they filmed it documentary style. This seemed way better than the other seasons already. I prefer the back stories over the dramatic bs that goes on in the house. I want to see training and back stories. I want to know who these guys are. I dont care about whose pissing in whose bed or fruit bowl. This season should be really good.
