Yup. its the same sculpt as the Jedi Luke buts its had chunks of his huge head choppedoff so it could fit in Vader mask.

I have that same Vader/Dagobah piece and it really is nice. That would have been the ultimate exclusive for Bespin Luke, but of course, the Hurricane would is more intricate that what a factory produced one could have done...

ANH ones has the cloth piece over the chest armor, while this one clearly has it underneath the chest armor.

I'd say its either ESB, ROTS or ROTJ version.

I've always preferred the other version than the ANH version. But I'll probably get the SS ANH vader, and the ROTS vader from hurricane.

that was eps 3 costume....his upper robes underneath his shoulder pad..
but from that angle,his helmet looks like eps 6 version....cos eps 3 has a longer line back of his helmet...

Yup....chest gives it away. Hurricane is gonna do a ANH version for me - first one I've actually ordered for him...I am as giddy as a school girl for that one....ANh is my fav version of Vader, followed by the ESB the n ROTj look....

I'm also new to the 1/6 bandwagon so I'm unfamiliar with the 2 Medicom versions but I know enough that they have removable helmets. I also think the arms are scrawny. The upcoming Sideshow Vader doesn't seem to have a removable helmet but he looks really butch.

Plus it has one thing the Medis don't have: an accurate color scheme for the face mask. When shooting "A New Hope," they decided to color Vader's mask in an asymmetrical and alternating color scheme of gloss black and gun metal (or dark gray?). Meaning if the left side cheek is black, the right side would be gun metal, and so forth. This was done to simulate a high-gloss and high-reflective look to the mask and because a solid black face mask didn't film well. SS captured the look so well in their new figure.

The Medicom ROTJ Vader has the asymmetrical gun metal coloring on the cheek that you are describing. I will probably repaint mine all black, as that is how he was supposed to appear on camera anyway.

Always look at the colors of the buttons and switches on the chest box first. That is usually a dead give away which version of Vader is being depicted.
