Kane is about 99.9% done now. All that's left is the name plate on the chest armor.

Note the following mods in these pics:

- I've relocated the attachment for the air hose to the top-center of the backpack instead of the left corner. This is where the hose is in the movie.

- I've modified the two tubular attachments on the winch unit to be more screen accurate.

- I've redistributed the padding the pants along the back. They were a little too puffy before. Now they are both more uniform and also more natural looking.

man! thats awsome! i m in the PROMETHEUS madness for the last 2 month, though i still dont realy know if this movie ll be good or fail... but by the way i have to wach the original movie again and again! and always in my fafourite passages on the planet, i ve to think about your little kane!
also like the backroud of the pictures. looke like kane beamed into a traditional japanese room ore something

Thanks Alienbuilder! You're right! It DOES look like the scene at the end of 2001 - when there's a quick shot of the astronaut standing in the fancy hotel room.

BTW: That backdrop I used in the photos is the diorama from the Enterbay "Game of Death: Behind the Scenes" Bruce Lee set. I ended up with three of them - so decided to use it.

I was messing with the boots and decided to redo them from scratch to bet exactly like some photos I found of Kane's boots from the Space Jockey scene. Pics later tonight.

A couple quick mods:

1) I reduced the thickness of the Winch unit some more so that it is more flushed with the chest plate. I have no idea why HT made these things so thick in the first place.

2) After relocating the air hose attachment to the center - the attachment that I originally made now looked out of place. so I simplified the attachment. I made a tiny fastener out of lead strips. I just gently squeeze the fastener to tightly secure the hose to the peg on the backpack.

Updates- YAY!!!
Looks absolutely wonderful, tinister. The new bonnet, the hose connection, all of it. I can't wait to see the new boots- that is a mod I wanted to do WAY back when.

One suggestion: perhaps you should use a dremel tool or something to remove the two square shapes above the red knobs on the backpack.
I'm planning to do a complete makeover on the backpack, hopefully with a red / yellow pair of suits from your amazing talent.

Thanks Anthrapoid. I was about to get rid of those two bulkheads, but it's a hollow inside. So it will be a bigger task that I will have to do at some other time. Basically cut them out and them fill in with filler and repaint.
