Got tired of constantly futzing around with the original HT air hose. For one thing - it's too short. Since I relocated the helmet so that it leans forward on the shoulders in a more realistic manner - the hose barely reaches the peg on the backpack now.

Secondly - the peg is puny so the hose kept popping out.

So I made a new longer hose and also gave it a much more sturdy peg that fits into a new slot drilled onto the backpack. Sucker's not going anywhere now when it's plugged in.

Aww. It's been my pleasure Flosi I'm hoping to finish him this weekend. The head was the hard part. I'm finally satisfied with it. The boots are proving to be more complicated, but I think I've got it. Pics coming soon.

Would you believe I'm done?

My friend is printing out the nameplate on his printer, but everything else is done.

Here are the final boots:

And some final little details I added:
- Added red and blue lights to the exterior of the helmet. These were never lit up in the movies, but I thought they would make a cool detail to have.
- Added the little odometer looking dial to the backpack. The original HT just left this as a hole. I painted in the dial and added a clear plastic cover and weathered it like in the movie.
- Added little tubing details to the side the of the winch. Didn't like how HT just left that side plain.
- Last time I modified the two tube attachments on the winch to be more screen accurate. Just added the little scoop-like opening to the top of the tube on the side to make it more accurate.

I kept looking at Kane tonight and I realized that there's still one thing I need to fix. So:

The HT chest plate is a little too squarish. And I think it is too bulky looking - both too thick (as seen from the side) and too uniform in how the four plates are perfectly aligned and flushed with each other. And overall - they're too big (by about 10%) when viewed from the front.

If you look at the chest plates in the movie - they're much thinner and they look somewhat hand tooled. The plates hang loosely from each other. It has that shogun warrior armor look that Moebius intended with his design. The HT chest plate misses this. The HT chest plate looks like something the Colonial marines in "Aliens" would wear.
