The thing is we've seen other companies do Clones now and with great success. Always asked Sideshow, "when are you doing armored characters?". They always said "we're working on it". I presumed they were working on a new body to use the armor on. The design of the clones has been there for like what, 4 years since we first saw the helmet design used for ROTS? I believed that when they finally did unleash their armored characters, they would have had more than enough time to get things right like say, the shape and details of the helmet.

With Medicom doing armored clones for a while now, I thought Sideshow would make sure every little detail would be perfect to show us "Hey, thanks for being patient, take this Medicom!" and dazzle us with film accuracy at a great price.

I really don't want to sound overly critical, as I plan on keeping my exclusive, but with this much anticipation built up, things like getting the shape of the bottom of the helmet wrong seem really disappointing.

It's really hard to argue with all of the valid points you've just made, especially since Sideshow also once famously said, "Perfection takes time" in regards to armored characters. Well, it took time... but it's clearly not perfect. Doh! :duh

That said, I must say that other than the now obvious inaccuracies with the EP3 Clone helmet sculpt I think Sideshow has done a bang-up job on their initial armored offerings. The armor suit itself is great, the weapons are fantastic and Vader's armor and helmet turned out pretty stellar as well. It's just this one clone helmet that is a clear blemish on what otherwise could have been argued as "perfection". They can and should correct it.

Hey, look at God. The guy has had thousands of years to get humans right, and we are still surounded by idiots. And he is supposed to be perfect.

Vader and Stormie do look fantastic. Guess being a Star Wars fan is you always end up looking at the negative and not the other two armored characters (3 with Kenobi) that turned out great.

He is. We're not (thanks to the "gift" of Free Will). I think that's one thing's that been clear since the beginning. :lol

I don't think there is anything wrong with being disappointed that the EP3 Clone helmet is inaccurate, especially after the other licensees (even MediSmall) nailed it and we had to wait this long.

God also gave us the gift of free will, should have known better. By doing that, not perfect.
That's a Pandora's Box discussion, and if this weren't the SW section and I weren't against really discussing theology online in the first place I'd be happy to explain why I believe you're wrong.

That said...

Back on topic.... Sideshow, you promised perfection and didn't deliver. Step up to the plate and rectify these helmet issues and we can return to our own Garden of Eden. :joy

Oh sorry didn't see that. But that is what I have always thought. They can't just make every collectible dead on perfect every time.Because then no one would buy the next thing if they we're already satisfied with the first.Far less money for LFL.

This is absolutely ridiculous! If LFL were such money grubbing bastards more than one version of the SW films would have been made and sold.

I honestly think (and hope) that Sideshow will do their best to correct this before the production phase. Now that someone (Shatterer) from Sideshow understands the problem with the helmet, hopefully he will do his best to advocate for a more accurate helmet. Afterall, we are the consumers and most companies want to please the consumer in order to keep their business especially during these difficult financial times when people are being more selective with their purchases (at least I know I am). I just think we need to be sensitive in our criticisms and not deliberately bash a product that I am sure several artists worked very hard on. I think it's best that we try to make our suggestions with as little hostility and rudness as possible. I'm just glad someone from Sideshow is listening. Most companies don't even do that much.

Kidding! Not what I believe, just being a smart a#@. Like you said, discussing this stuff online leads to nothing but trouble.

Back to Utapau trooper, I love clones, have way too many hasbro figures of armies of clones. I'm not however a person that can draw every detail off the top of my head or have the design memorized. But as soon as I saw the preview image, I saw something was "off". I did a little digging and saw what it was. I just don't get how this got by so many people that work for SSC. I would think someone would have noticed something was off about it.

The Stormtrooper looks good overall. With Vader, they went cheap on the cape. Hopefully I can replace it.

Why do we even criticize? Because we are paying customers for products that are currently only offered by Sideshow. There is no other company that offers alternative 1/6 scale representations (Medicom is not 1/6). If we don't criticize and don't make a purchase, both the customer and Sideshow loses out.

We vote with our wallets of course. But if nothing is said, Sideshow might assume there is less interest in the product and not their design decisions that are decreasing sales.

That's why it's nice to see guys from SS come here and explain certain things to us. I hope they realize that we're not looking for something to complain about ( ANH Han and Luke are two of my favorite figures and I know people complained about them) but yeah if we notice inaccuracies in their product, hopefully they listen and do what they can to correct it.

I love my SS Star Wars collection, it got me into collecting 1/6. However, certain companies have really upped their game and I hope SS feels it in their competitive nature to do so also. Clone Obi-Wan is a great start.

But how many people actually vote with their wallets? People ^^^^^ about the item but still end up buying it even though nothing changed.

Calm down there Anzik Hayes.. In light of all what's been going on in the world, you seriously doubt that the money grubbing bastards at LFL are not infact money grubbing bastatrds.

That's the real problem, especially with the SW property. Far too many "completists" to effectively gauge quality from item-to-item within a line.

What separates the licensees is when they have the gumption to go back and fix, tweak and perfect something that's wrong when they know it will still sell anyway. Hot Toys does it all the time. Sideshow has done it before as well. And this is one of those times where they can send a clear signal that they're serious about at least staying in the same ball park in the 1:6 arena.

Sideshow has already upped their 1:6 game with these new bodies, armor, etc. Going back and correcting the mistakes on the EP3 Clone helmet would be a clincher.

Also depends how far in production the product is. Will people move on or ^^^^^ about the extra 6 months of production time?
