From an engineering stand point, there is no question inmy mind, it has to be Dallas.
Likeness is there as well, and value. It simply is a fantastic figure.
Figures like Indy and BR Joker don't even come close to Dallas IMHO. They're very cool, and have great likeness, but are nowhere near as innovative as Dallas.
Gandalf is a close second to me, because of the amount of research and the excellent materials used.

I totally agree. Dallas gets my vote.

:lol

Is that the Burger King Joker. I want that one!

:lol :lol :lol

I think he works for McDonalds.

I have Indy, BR Joker & Gandalf...and I had to go Gandalf...as amazing as the other two are.

BR Joker is the clear winner, but I voted for Old Ben. That sculpt was the best likeness until Mr. J. came along.

Next year I'll probably vote for Don Corleone.

Votes seem to be in line with Michael's...except no Dallas love here.

I want to know, are people voting their personal favorite or from a more critical stand point. To me, if you're being critical, surely Dallas or Davy Jones or even TDK suit Batman would stand out more for the engineering and creativity to achieve them more than BR Joker who is just a refinement of commonly used techniques.

I think its Bat-mania.

yeah i hated POTC2, and TDK has become one of my favourite movies of all time. but i chose cannibal jack because for me that was a milestone. i guess my second choice would be dallas. TDK suit batman is a good choice and would have been my favourite had it turned out the same shape as the proto. but he had too many pies.

It's just a curious thing because there's a number of ways to make your selection. I personally look at the question as taking a broad look at what 1/6 figures came out and judging them, even if I don't have them, by what does or doesn't impressive me as an achievement. Lots of these figures look great, but when some require the company to go above and beyond, I feel those are more deserving of the spotlight than just another highlight piece. With all that's going on with the Two-Faces and Iron Man's and Predators, etc., it's hard to view BR Joker as that fantastic a figure. Yes, within it's level of figure it raises the bar and sets some new standars, but it's a pretty straight forward piece. You start getting into taking a challenging design and finding a way to make a highliy articulated figure out of it against the odds and that speaks to me as a great figure.

I voted based on what figure looks the most like it was the character shrunk down to 12" tall. Which one had clothes, sculpt, proportions, paint apps and so on that made it look like a real person from the film in 1:6 form. To me realism is the pinnacle of this hobby.

Based on those criteria I chose BR Joker. Old Ben catches 2nd place for me.

Other:
Jor-El
He didn't come with much but his outfit and sculpt were top notch, plus who woulda thought we'd even get him?

2009 Iron man looks like king so far.

I went with Indy. He and the Joker were honestly both the reasons that I got into 1/6 figures at all. Though the extra head on BR Joker is amazing, you really need the other Joker clothes for him. So, I don't feel that BR Joker by himself really deserves it. Indy could use a better paint job on his head, but that's his only major flaw, in my opinion. It just great that this character from my childhood was finally done justice.
