My Father worked for Disney for 10 years, he never met Walt Disney but did meet Michael Eisner & the very first person to wear the Mickey Mouse costume back in 1955. :)

wow, great tradition having worked for Disney and meeting Eisner and the first Mickey. Excellent. There must be some great Disneyland moments your father got to experience.

I collect all the Nightmare Before Christmas and my wife gets the Little Mermaid stuff

This is my most recent piece.

My Dad really enjoyed working at Disneyland, he had some fond memories and made some great friends. :)

Wow, another person who is doing the Japanese My Disneyland series. I thought I was the only one! I was actually in Tokyo when I saw the first and second "magazines" in a newstand. I bought them as a souvenir of the trip not thinking I would ever see them again. Then about a year later, an Olszewski Main Street collector let me know of a company that imports them into the US so I got the back issues for the ones I didn't have and then started a subscription for the new issues. Right now I am up to about #80. The last two I got were wood panels from the outside perimeter base. It is great getting these every week in the mail. Like you, I wonder if they will start another series after this one. I imagine they would do Tokyo Disneyland next. By the way, I've been in Tokyo 3 times and each time I went to Tokyo Disneyland and the last 2 trips I've gone to Tokyo DisneySea. For those who love Disney theme parks, there is none more spectacular than DisneySea.

Do you guy have pictures of these little things, to kinda get a size comparison also how do the insides of the rides work? For example where does the Prime evil world part of the train go?

I haven't taken any photos yet, but I will soon. by the way, I've been opening my boxes and setting all the pieces out but I haven't built it yet. Most rides do not have "insides". The dioramas along the train ride and a bit of Splash Mountain and a few others are the only ones where you see inside the rides. These "insides" are of a larger scale than the surrounding buildings. The Primieval world is around the periphery just where the train goes.

Here are some photos of My Disneyland (about 80% complete). I put the Hot Toys Batman in the last shot to give you a sense of scale!

Wow, that looks great! Mine is still all spread out over a shelf in a million pieces. Everytime I get a new box, I open it, take the pieces out and put them on the shelf in the general area they need to go. I have to start putting it all together soon.

It looks excellent! Thanks for sharing the photos.

You are inspiring me to finish setting mine up. I have a question so that I can decide where I am going to put it:

what is the total footprint size of it in inches? Width by depth?

Thanks!

That's a neat little set.

I was at Dowtown Disney yesterday and saw some of the Olszewski main street miniatures there. They look so awesome in person. It's way too big for me to ever have them all, but I think I could be content with just the castle and the hub with the "Partners" statue. But I'm guessing you can't connect only those two pieces.

Hey there! I am not at home right now, but I will get you those measurements later this evening!

I was going to stay away from the WDW series, but looking at the Main Street Miniatures website, Exposition Hall is so tempting!

Thank you so much, about how much does each issue run that has these? I like the fact that it also lights up.

I wouldn't worry about it since Olszewski Studios has yet to release a platform for the WDW pieces. Since they all have their own bases, you could place the hub next to the castle and it would look fine!

I thought about that, but I thought the hub looked a little odd being on its own. I may very well buy the castle one day though. And odds are good I'll buy some replica or other of the "Partners" statue, which is basically why I want the hub.

I'm a huge fan of Disney and Disneyland, but the WDCC does not appeal to me at all. I work in the animation industry, and always hate when characters are "off model," and to me, all of the WDCC characters I have seen have been off model. I understand how hard it is to translate a 2d character into a 3d sculpture, but for how much some of these are going for, they just don't look that great. In my opinion, the best Disney likenesses on the market are Medicom's Disney Vinyl Collectibles. Compare this:

Absolutely no comparison, and Medicom's are only a fraction of the cost... and they're even bigger! I just wish they were easier to find!!!

Looking at those two pics I think I like the WDCC piece more, but I can't really judge without a source comparison. I did notice that the wheel on my steamboat willie piece looked too big, and for some of them the dace sculpts aren't the greatest. But I figure that's because I've gotten used to Sideshow's awesome likenesses.

WDCC are the most "on model" of all versions of Disney Characters. Many of them are sculpted by the same artists that sculpted the original maquettes used in the production of the films. Fine porcelain is a beautiful medium that captures the characters perfectly. I much prefer the WDCC to the Medicom. Its like comparing Robinsoe Crusoe to Gilligan's Island.

The japanese price is 1499 yen which is about $15.00 an issue in US currency. The only problem is the shipping which is a killer! Can add about $10.00 each to the issue price. So, this ends up to be almost as expensive as the Olszewski series.
