Across the way, Disney California Adventure revealed their new entrance (much like Disney's Hollywood Studios)

Over at the Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar at Disneyland Hotel, you can find another nod to UP: The money jar for Paradise Falls.

The bartenders here ham it up...

But can make a serious drink

Order the wrong drink though... (or the right one), and kaboom

Among all the decorations, some super sleuthing of mine (it took me 6 trips to discover this) is a nod to the Adventurer's Club. :(

I was in Kissimmee for a conference over the weekend and had time to briefly visit Disney Hollywood Studios. I wanted to catch the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular but missed the last showing of the day. I did manage to see Star Tours and Fantasmic, and my fiancee and I had dinner at the Scifi Drive-in Theatre, which was pretty cool. I hadn't been to the parks since the early 90s and was amazed at how much things had changed.

It really was a good time to go. There were people there but it wasn't too crowded and the weather was decent: hot, but not so humid and it was the only day I was in Florida that it didn't rain.

A friend of mine will be working it. I'm jealous. I told her I'd give her a shopping list and my credit card. :lol

I know this is more of a Collectibles Thread thing but I think my parks peeps will appreciate it more. I've been hoping this thing would come out when I saw a prototype years ago and it finally has - 1/6 Park Costume Mickey!!!!

Sorry for the quick and dirty snaps - the good camera is out of town at the moment.

Who made that? I want one!

Apparently a company called How2work, in association with Medicom (it's on a short RAH type body).

There were 300 made. I got mine for $220 + shipping but it looks like they have broken $300 since.

Actually I just looked at my auction, shipping was free with ABC Express. I spotted it totally randomly last week, thank goodness. I would keep checking with them since they seem to get everything and 7toys7's prices just went up and up.

Sweet! We're just heading down for 1 day (Sat). I am assuming that you will be there all weekend long?

Saturday and Sunday. I couldn't get the day off Friday which really upsets me because that's when the parks and resorts presentation is.

That's awesome. We are big AC fans here. Still carrying a torch that it may someday return.

Me too. It was my personal favorite thing at Walt Disney World and management were idiots to tear it down. I understand the rest of Pleasure Island but keep at least the crown jewel.

AND THAT MICKEY MOUSE. OMG I WANT ONE. How would I even search for that?

Actually the AC has not been literally torn down, leading many to believe it will be resurrected. There was a strong fan reaction when it closed. I don't follow the day-to-day developments (or non-developments, really) of what's going on with the apparently stalled "Hyperion Warf" plan for Downtown but from what I hear every announcement has been met with rabid inquiries from AC fans.

As far as I can tell there are no more 1/6 Mickeys on Ebay. The auction I won was titled -

HOT! Medicom Toys 1:6 MICKEY MOUSE 12" RAH Figure

That was from seller abc-express. This is the description from their auction:

"This MICKEY MOUSE Figure is newly presented by CLOT and uses the 1:6 Medicom Toys RAH body. It is an official item and exclusive for Asian Market. Figure is in 1/6th scale and stands about 12-inch tall. Figure is articulated and poseable. Item comes with full set of costume and accessories as pictures shown. All are in 1/6th scale and finished with fine workmanship. All our items are 100% new and never played in unopened package. Please see more details from below pictures. ALL THE FREE SHIPPING ITEMS WILL BE SENT BY AIRMAIL ONLY. THANKS! (For the HK local buyers, sorry we cannot purchase by face to face, all the items have to send by posting) (It is a collector toys for adult, not for kids.) (the 1:6 Hot Toys IRON MAN figure is not included in this listing, just for the reference of scale) All comes with a unique number. "

I've found completed auctions titled -

How2Work Disney 12"Mickey Action Figure :Ltd 500 DI001Z

from seller 7toys7.

Good luck - it really is a great and unique piece for Park fans!

Stopped by the park today to check out a new "character" that was making the rounds...

He comes out every now and then, poses for pictures, makes his beep beep noises and what not.

Even has a pop-up periscope
