^Can you spot Knott's Berry Farm in the horizon?

That chicken looks ridonk. I think I'm as excited for the food this trip as much as anything else.

When my wife was a kid her family went to California (NJ natives). Being too-cool-for-school tween/teens she and her sister chose Knott's Berry Farms over DL. That infamous day is rarely spoken of in this house.

Was in WDW for just a day as a stop over back in September, but did no parks. Was sad to not see it looking in the greatest shape...didnt seem to be keeping its usual "magical lustre" upkeep. I know they have slipped a little, but hopefully it was just my timing. I will be back in April for a yet another stop over, but for 4 days this time before going to Miami. I think this will be my 15th or so time there since the late 80s. Plan on going to just Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon and over to Universal as I haven't been there since Islands of Adventure originally opened. Can't wait for the trip! Hopefully score some good Vinylmation trading :yess:

Never been to Disney Land, I'm pretty much a WDW loyalist. I prefer a world over a Theme Park, plus all my memories are there. Though sadly it appears as of late DL has been doing the better job of maintenance, upkeep and keeping the "magic" alive unfortunately.

I will then be back in WDW again sometime between October & December once the Fantasy Land Expansion is almost complete. At least the Mermaid & Beast areas I'm hoping for, as they seem to be coming along on schedule. Might split up the vacation in half and do a 3 day cruise possibly as well on the Dream or Fantasy if it works out. Love the inside cabins with those magical portholes

Over the past 3 decades, I've gone to WDW and the luster has diminished each time. It's gotten so bad that I have no desire whatsoever to return until something significant is added. Fantasyland will surely help but not enough since it's only one new ride (seven dwarfs mine) and one clone (little mermaid). Redressing the Barnstormer and doubling up on Dumbo's isn't enough.

I understand the WDW loyalist mentality but to me, I was never overly impressed with its grandeur because they didn't have enough rides and attractions to show for it.

Disneyland was in the dumps from 1996-2004. It was the worst state it was ever in but 2005 and onward, it was nothing but improvements and still continuing. By this summer, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will have about the same amount of entertainment and attractions of three of Walt Disney World's parks (hence why I was disappointed. I wanted WDW to SHOW me the light).

Universal's Islands of Adventure though is incredible. You'll have a great time there. And if you have time, the Men In Black ride at Universal Studios park is awesome.

I just got back from a week at WDW. Great time as usual. High 70s to low 80s no humidity. Makes me sad to be back in Maine with these mid-30 temperatures.

I like the redone Star Tours. It would figure that my first time on I see my picture being held up as the rebel.:lol

I forgot how much Space Mountain does a number on me if I sit in a front car. Being 6'5 my shins took a beating and are still bruised.

Despite the number of refurbs going on the crowds weren't that bad and were spread out pretty well. Though there were 2 days where you couldn't turn without being smack in the middle of a Brazilian tour group.

:lol Yep, its that time of year. When you see the flag and the bright matching shirts, watch where they are going and then go somewhere else. I walked into Club Cool at Epcot today to get a little bit of free soda (I love the apple one from Mexico) and stepped in the door, saw the place filled with bright orange shirts and walked back out.

I'm personally not a fan of WDW's Space Mountain. Even with repeat rides, I can't find the fun of how bumpy space travel would be.

I believe Florida was the first out of the gate with Space Mountain in the 70s and it kind of imitates the Matterhorn Bobsleds in CA. Both are single-file coasters, both have two tracks that are slightly different, and both are bumpy as hell. The main difference is that when it's bumpy and i can see that I'm on a mountain, that makes it fun/believable. When it's pitch black, I don't find it very fun.

Disneyland's Space is a smaller single track with side-by-side seating but also much much smoother.

I think people who started with WDW's might find Disneyland's too tame in comparison haha!

Just out of curiosity, why is it called, "Disneyana"?

Disneyland's Main Street has a shop called Disneyana where it sells Disney art and sculptures. Perhaps that coined it?

As far as my knowledge goes, it's a bit of a chicken or egg scenario. "*ana" is a pretty common phrase for miscellaneous things related to a specific subject, almost always referring to memorabilia, collectibles, etc. Whether "*ana" caught on after Disney coined it, or Disneyana (the store) was named due to the "*ana" naming convention, I'm not sure.
