Hey Coheteboy...about your signature--is there some sort of Tron area or "Tronland" at Disneyland?

I've read those rumors as well but I would rather see something else as a 3rd Park. More like Epcot or something and then add some Marvel attractions to the Disney Studios Park in Paris.

One of the most boring attractions at the moment is Armageddon so they could tear that one down and build something else Marvel related instead. Then there is the new Ratatouille Dark Ride that is coming to the studios park but that isn't enough for a full day at the studios. So maybe a Marvel Build land like Toy Story play land is a good option. What also would be very cool if they would at the 3D Toy Story attraction to Toy Story Playland but I guess that is way to expensive at the moment voor DLP.

Another Rumor is a Star Wars Themed area in Discovery Land in DLP and I wouldn't mind that at all. There is just to little to do at the moment. The 3D theater is now shut so they could re-arrange that Star Wars Wise. The Pizza Planet restaurant could become the Cantina and then Star Tours would be upgraded. What I like best about this idea is that all that is behind Space Mountain so when you walk into Discovery Land you don't lose the Jules Verne vibe that is there and when you walk around the corner on either side you are in the Star Wars theme. Plus it would mean that Disneyland Paris would earn some extra €€€ with Star Wars events, merchandise etc.

Regardless of what comes to Anaheim, I really do hope that Disneyland Paris gets the proper care and attention it needs. That was a theme park botched from the beginning and is still barely turning a profit.

Michael Eisner's goal was to open a Disney park in Europe, even though NOBODY there wanted it. They over spent without considering the locals' desires and interests and lost a lot of money.

The 2nd park Walt Disney Studios Paris was under-spent... and a much worser park than California Adventure was. It's just a mess is what that is. It's really unfortunate.

But I have a question for you since you're from the Netherlands. Are you happy there's a Disney resort in France? How do other people feel? Do they like it?

From 2010 until early 2012, the Hollywood Pictures Backlot of Disney California Adventure would have a night time party called elecTRONica.

The entire land turned into shades of blue to match The Grid. You'd be able to dance to DJs dressed like Castor/Zuse. There'd be girls dressed like the Sirens who danced around.

The nearby Muppet Vision 3D theater would have a special preview of TRON: LEGACY where it'd show an extended scene not only in 3D, but with added in-theater lighting effects and air effects. When a Recognizer flew over head, you'd feel the wind coming down. It was actually better than seeing it in the theater!

In another corner was FLYNN'S ARCADE where you could play 80s arcades. The tokens were unique and said "flynn's arcade" on them, making them somewhat of a collectible.

And of course there was plenty of drinking and booze for sale. Tron-tinis were what they'd be called.

Oh and there was also a laser-man show. Basically a man who performs cool visuals with lasers.

It's a true testament to TRON because it was supposed to be a temporary thing but it ended up lasting over a year after the film left theaters.

It ended earlier this year and made way for the MAD T PARTY inspired by Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

Here's some pics of it:

It was probably the closest thing to a dedicated TRON land as you could get.

It's stuff like elecTRONica that make me sad I don't live close enough to be able to go there often enough for the short term things.

Well the main problem is the French attitude and I don't mean this in the wrong way. I have been fortunate to visit Disney World and Disneyland Paris (a lot of times) and there is a huge different in attitude.

When you walk in Disney World everybody is looking happy and are willing to help you and smile a lot (eventhough it is required and is a bit fake) but still it is better then looking at a CM in Disneyland Paris that is looking like I have to stand here from 9-12 today.

Then there is the costs. If you want a simple fast food menu it is around €11,95 in regard to normal prices of around €5,95 and €6,95 at McDonalds and often the food in the Park is cold and doesn't taste well. Catering has always been a big problem in DLP. You can eat very good in DLP at Walt's or the Steak House but that is fast becoming around €40,- €50,- per person. When I compared the food at WDW it was cheaper and tasted a lot better (as good as fast food can taste)

But everybody who goes likes it mostly because of the attractions and the Disney magic that is going around the please and mostly because it is closer then Anaheim or Orlando.

Then there is the problem of the different groups of people. I often got treatend very rude by Spanish visitors who just skipped lines, got infront of you when the parade started and you waited about 20 minutes for a good place and so on. Now I'm not saying all the spanish are like this but everytime something like this happened they spoke Spanish. And my Spanish isn't good enough to argue with them.

So a long story short. Yes we like Disneyland Paris even with is flaws, high food prices and multicultural differences but give me an option to go the WDW, Disneyland or Disneyland Paris for the same prices I would chose the US Parks far above DLP.

there is a 3D toy story ride in FL but I personally did not like it at all, the line has always been from an hour to hour and a half, and I don't get it, it was okay but I expected better, I expected the characters at least to be real, not 3D characters in the screen, from what I thought it was going to be I expected it to be nicer

I've seen both Fantasmics and also seen World of Color so here's my assessment. But first, I'll describe a few differences between Disneyland's Fantasmic! and Walt Disney World's.

1. Disneyland's Fantasmic! is about 22 minutes long. Disney World's is much longer.

2. Disneyland's takes place on the Rivers of America on Tom Sawyer's Island. Guests sit along the edge of the river to watch the show. There's usually two shows nightly. The one at Disney's Hollywood Studios is in a massive ampitheater that fills just about the entire park's capacity.

3. Disneyland's setting is Tom Sawyer's Island by day magically transforms into the stage by night. DHS's is a rocky mountain stage that is unseen all day until the show.

4. Disneyland scenes not in WDW's: Jungle Book's Kaa drum cadence. Pink Elephants on parade. Peter Pan vs the Pirates. Pinocchio puppet sequence.

5. Walt Disney World scenes not in DL's: Mist screen bubble sequence. Pocahontas sequence. Mickey vs Jafar. Longer list of villains.

Verdict: I prefer Disneyland's more intimate show. The music is flows better while Florida chopped up the CA version and re-ordered it and replaced great scenes with ones that weren't as strong (Pocahontas or Peter Pan?). Disneyland also has the 2nd version of the Maleficent dragon that looks pretty amazing and works a lot better. The finale also takes place on the Mark Twain Steamboat, fitting more characters on it. Essentially, the show was made for Disneyland's strengths. It's still a great show at Florida but it loses some of the magic holding it in the amphitheater.

Now... World of Color is nothing like Fantasmic. Fantasmic is a show that makes use of mist screens as transitional segments. World of Color is 100% water segments.

World of Color has no story. It's essentially a series of Disney songs and some movie moments with choreographed water. It's akin to seeing the Fireworks on water.

World of Color is a 25 minute Bellagio fountain show on steroids. The only down side is that it feels too much like a Disney DVD Highlight Reel. But it has some great moments and worth watching.

I love Fantasmic but I didn't like the Pocahontas part, that was a big wtf? for me, it just didn't have to do with what Mickey was saying about imagination, I mean it does but it was weird, I hated that part,

makes me kinda sad that they are so different and that Disneyland has better scenes that are missing from the one at Hollywood

You nailed it! The original Fantasmic was about dreams, imagination and magic. All the scenes that were picked had all of that, but also picked for its music and flowed properly to the next.

In the 2nd version, scenes were put in just to have MORE characters and newer scenes to sell the latest animated hits. But it was also done for practical reasons since they didn't have a massive pirate ship to do the Peter Pan scene.

As for the villains, in the original, each one had magic. In Florida, what is Judge Claude Frollo doing there? What is Scar doing there? What is Cruella De Vil doing there? It really seemed out of place.

Goes to show, that you can't just take an existing show and change it by too much. Only change it if you can improve it, don't change it because it'll cost more to make.

i did find Cruella and scar weird, I didn't think about it much but they did out of place, specially Scar, I didn't know the original version was made there, but it did look out of place,

I really wish they didn't change it, the show is about imagination and magic, and then they add Pocahontas, that did make me go, Wtf is going on? it took me a couple of seconds to realize what it was, i didn't like that part,

Fantasmic is amazing still, I loved it, I never saw it, I never even knew it was back there, I Always assumed that was part of the Beauty and the beast show,
I saw it and i was blown away by the snake and the dragon, really cool stuff, but now I wish they didn't change as much,

on a side note, World of Color has a new Independence Day segment attached to the show until Wednesday. It's pretty cool. I recommend a watch even if you never seen the show because it's for such a limited time only.

I'm going to Disneyland Paris soon. Is there something you folks want photographed of the resort?

Everything Star Tours and everything Indiana Jones for me!

Also I think it would be fun to see what walk-around characters roam around in that park as well. Thanks!

I went to Disneyland yesterday and was surprised how UNbusy it was. I guess it might have something to do with it being the end of a holiday weekend and a lot of people are going to California Adventure to check out the new lands. But Space Mountain was only a half hour wait in the middle of the afternoon. Big Thunder was only 20 minutes. Insane for a nice Summer day.

Here's a few pictures from yesterday!

Thank you! Here's more!

The wait for Radiator Springs Racers single rider line was only 30 minutes. So my group of 16 piled in and individually got on in no time at all.
