We have older people at my workspace that may or may not have gone to college but they have been their so long they think they know everything and are better than everyone else because they have been stuck at the same job their whole life. I love correcting their errors and reminding them that my starting salary is what they are making currently.
if that helps you sleep at night. all the power to ya.

we have fresh college grads that come into our workplace all the time. they think they know everything and are better than everybody else. in actuality they are about as dumb as a pile of rocks. i love correcting their errors and reminding them that they have an expensive college degree and i don't. that really gets them flustered.

I wonder how many of them know how to capitalize. :lol

I don't know how old you are, but you must have gotten your foot into whatever door you chose to walk through a looooong time ago. An 8th grade education nowadays will get you a sleeping bag and a bottle of scotch; or a get into jail free card. I would also venture to guess that the "condescending tone" these college grads take resonates more with you than most people, for obvious reasons.

But hey, college fills your head with nonsense like proper punctuation, and the value of insuring your assets.

Move to Mackay, Australia - you'll earn in excess of $120,000 AUD a year driving trucks in the coal mining industry! No qualifications required!

Now is a great time to get into nursing. You'll always be able to find a job no matter where you go and males are usually even more in demand. You'll make significantly more than $56k a year straight out of the gate and your options to branch out into other areas with even higher income potential are infinite.

sweet i struck a nerve.:yess:

i knew everyone would get on my case about not capitalizing sentences. they always do. next i'll get the slams about the figures in my avatar and sig. go ahead. i can take it.

it is what it is. i just live my life. people put too much stock in education and salary levels.

No they don't. Whether or not that's justified is of course debatable, but exceptions like yourself don't negate what the statistics report when it comes to potential and earnings in correlation to education.

Yes, you really struck a nerve. :dunno

I've known nurses who work in psych. wards, nursing homes, primary care offices, and emergency rooms. All had ____ty jobs. They work like dogs. As for why you're doing it, I guess a guy can get up in the morning and feel great about picking up garbage or being a janitor or whatever, but it's still a ____ty job IMO.

Maybe because they enjoy being able to travel, have friends, and like sex with women? :dunno Or are you going to say those aren't important to you?

I know as soon as I meet someone, I judge them based on how intelligent they are. Not your degree, but your ability to conduct yourself and carry a conversation.

I don't know too many uneducated college drop outs who run their own successful buissness, and they sure as hell aren't making good money without a degree in today's environment. Not enough to support a family or themselves with enough leftover to actually have fun. Those people have trac phones, are on unemployment, and contanstly mooch off of others.

If your in any sort of technical field, you'll hit a ceiling/salary cap real soon without a degree. But I do agree, that piece of paper doesn't make you any smarter than real experience does.
