we have fresh college grads that come into our workplace all the time. they think they know everything and are better than everybody else. in actuality they are about as dumb as a pile of rocks. i love correcting their errors and reminding them that they have an expensive college degree and i don't. that really gets them flustered.
chasing legends/old wives tales.
True or not Craw, that makes you sound quite petty.
Not always. There's a whole lotta DEPENDS with having your own business.
Damn classic! The Boot made that during Spook 2009, right when I joined this board. Great times with lots of snarky comments. I heard Spook 2010 wasn't as good for the online folks. I guess they catered to the Facebook crowd.
Well obviously, not saying it is a walk in the park or easy but just how I have been seeing things lately.
Wish I could see what you're seeing. All I'm seeing from the standpoint of a business owner is little businesses being pushed out of business because government is supporting the industries, not the little guys.
you just needed to overlook bamalamadingdongs comments.........
Doesn't mean the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I am with you on the whole political side, doesn't mean it doesn't make sense to do it sometimes.
You wouldn't have what you have now if you didn't take the risk. Does it always work out? No but because people are willing to do it a lot of great things have come from it.
You couldn't be further from the truth bud. I started the magazine in 2004, before the recession. I would not recommend to anyone that they leave gainful employment to start their own business in today's economy with government backing the industries and banks unwilling to loan money for start-ups without high-risk interest rates (despite being bailed out by the government to do just the opposite). You'd likely start a business, have it fail, and not only be ____ed and unemployed, but be further in debt, with high interest rates on monies borrowed for start-up expenditures.
I'm gonna work for the man. And the money.
Unfortunately cancer is on the rise and there is a huge need for radiation therapists worldwide. Find what you love and follow the money.
Sorry, just excited to be starting finally!
Such is life I guess. You live and you learn. If you wait around for ____ to get better, it is never gonna happen. No offense but if I was truly going to start a business and go off on my own, I think I would gather more advice then from one person.
Things will get better and the economy will recover. I'm all for taking risks, but if you've got a sure thing, especially if you have a family to support, that risk might ruin everything.
That said, and this isn't meant for you lol), if you're living at home in mommy's basement with almost no responsibilities, go for broke!
yup. that's how i roll. if you ever met these people i'm talking about, you'd understand. they don't last very long anyway. my company doesn't fire people. they demote them to midnight shift supervisor until they get fed up and quit. good riddance.True or not Craw, that makes you sound quite petty.
You couldn't be further from the truth bud. I started the magazine in 2004, before the recession and ATM, we've switched to online, mainly because airsoft businesses don't understand the concept of advertising, but also because airsoft being the luxury sport it is, gets cut when funds go tight.
What kind of magazine did you start, is it about the airsoft hobby?
