Have you guys heard of the Westboro Baptist Church?
They go around an picket the funerals of military men & women with signs that read "God Hates ****" and "Thank God for 9-11"
Now these _______s are going to picket the funeral for Ronnie James Dio!

Yes, Ronnie James Padova (NOT DIO) is currently residing in hell. I've heard reported on the news that they will rally and picket outside of a fallen soldiers funeral in protest of gays in the military. The fallen soldier has nothing to on any sort of policy regarding "dont ask dont tell" but these A-holes use the funeral as a medium to voice their political displeasure that gay men and women are serving in military. WTF?!?!?!?!

If I was a grieving family member at one of these funerals, I would most definitely go to jail for assault that day. Fricking religious zealots.

Yes they do. They came to a soldiers funeral here locally. The father sued them and lost the court battle and had to pay them for THEIR court costs. We live in a ____ed up world that's for sure!

I've not seen much on these people other than something I saw on here a while ago so I looked them up on the Net.

They are unreal, so much hatred for other human beings and they have the cheek to call it 'god's work'.

I really don't like preachy/bigoted or judgemental people who try to force their personal opionions/beliefs on others. Who do they think they are to judge someone they don't even know simply because they disagree their actions/sexuality or behaviour.
Trying to ruin something like a funeral is dispicable and distasteful, these people must have nothing better to do and certainly have no respect for anyone or anything.

I can imagine if they do appear at this or any other funeral that there may be some tempers flying because of it, and that is because of their action of being there. It's not the mourners who are at fault.
Just my thoughts anyway.

You remember in that episode when they were picketing or something, they drag the little kids along and someone driving past threw a big plastic drink container at them and this poor little kid caught it right in the face. Sucked that this little kid got hit in the face all because he got dragged along to that crap by his parents.

That is so disturbing.
So first they interfere with a soldier's funeral and it ends up that the soldier's father has to pay THEM because of it.

This is just so messed up but I guess they are just after the money as it said they are going after more from him.

Well, I sincerely hope the decision is reversed and they have to pay him. It may not stop the memory of them ruining his sons funeral but it would be a good moral victory.

BTW, if you ever see them... do not give in to your natural inclination and assault them.

Part of the way they fund their campaign is through suing anyone that "interferes" with their freedom of speech. They tend to carry video cameras and use that film for litigation. And I guess they have a number of lawyers who advise them on how to act in a manner that will prevent them from any legal liability... really a big scam if you ask me.

We had them in our town a couple years ago protesting a soldier's funeral. But the really ____ed up part is only 2 women and 3 kids showed-up, the rest were diverted to another town to protest the funeral of 2 little girls who died
