Are you talking about the manga? If so, it's really intense on swordsmanship fighting and its philosophies. It's lightly peppered with some lewdness and comedy at the same time. It's about Musashi Miyamoto and his beginnings. A lot of his opponents too. It's very humanized to a certain extent.

I would say in a lot of ways it's better than Berserk. Musashi is way more of a person than Guts is given there's tons of internal dialogue and Musashi truly grows throughout the series. I has a lot of fighting in it, but it's more about personal growth. When you read it, you'll get the bug to make yourself a better person from it.

Musashi and Guts are the biggest badass swordsman, ever.

I heard it’s good people keep comparing it to berserk off to order the first few volumes .

Yeah, I can't say it's just as good but it's definitely different, and really grounded. I need to re-read it again. I have the collected volumes with the spines that form a picture. I think I have volume 9 or 10.

Just finished Too Like the Lightning by Ada Palmer.

I like it but it’s a weird book, I hope the story pays off in the second book.

I’m reading some omnibus collections 094C63DA-1BC0-4D30-93CD-E3E40ABDDCA7.jpg87C1054E-CF49-4245-A2BF-E1D6B78435C3.jpg

Caliban's War - as expected the book is infinitely better than the adaptation (the excellent show The Expanse). The opener with Bobbie Draper was incredibly effective, the visceral horror of the situation, and the icier realisation that the cold war was being turned hot by a terrible misunderstanding... Well I'm looking forward to the rest of the novel!

200 pages in of The Stand by King. Reading an older, used paperback with the original 850 page or so version. Decided if I enjoy it when done, may tackle his bigger, longer and uncut version someday

Comic related: I want to read the Batman Metal series, but refuse to buy 87 comics to get the 'whole' story

I've read both, if your going to read and 850 page book you might as well read the unabridged. Just more story to read. I don't think it really changed the book for me overall, but it was a while back.

Halfway through History of Middle Earth, Vol. 2.
Now entering early writing of the end of the fellowship leading into the two towers. Different paths for the characters leading into dead ends. Tolkien working with possible story avenues, a lot of which made it to final publishing form.

Aragorn was originally a Hobbit that wore wooden shoes named Trotter.

Started at the top with Gotham Central. I’d say I’m about 3/4 of the way through, at this point, and it is, truly, magnificent.
