I had just got into thinking about how many bloody reboots keep occurring, and it's a pity because some of those films should never be touched.

But then I got thinking, there are a few films I would love to see rebooted, either due to time and age, or for any other reason.

So my question is, if you could pick a film to reboot, what would you choose, and who would you rather cast instead?

One film for me at the moment would be: Silence of the Lamb.

I really like watching Hannibal, and I think it would be cool to have Mads Mikkelsen try the locked-up Lecter.

So I'd say:

Hannibal Lecter - Mads Mikkelsen
Jack Crawford - Kevin Bacon
Clarice Starling - Rosamund Pike
Frederick Chilton - Tom Cavanagh
Buffalo Bill - Manu Bennet

One of my favorites, They Live.

main character/George Nada- Dean Ambrose (wrestler), Chris Pine or Josh Brolin

Frank Armitage- Omar Epps or Anthony Mackie

Gilbert- Roddy Piper

Old guy in tv - Brendan Gleeson

Holly Thompson - Any actress :lol

How could you make Silence of the Lambs any better than what it was? Surely you'd only reboot a movie that offered an enhanced or improved experience of the original?

That would make the most sense, my view to this is a dream team aspect. Yeah SotL is incredible, doesn't mean I would disapprove of a different style to it.

Don't you get it? We've been remaking movies over and over again since the beginning of film. The Lumiere's "Train Arriving at a Station" is a remake.

Don't get all "Joseph Campbell" on me, Dude. But good point. How many times can you remake Taxi Driver, Citizen Kane, Annie Hall and The Godfather.

God, if those ever get remade, that'd be an all time low.

I know people don't like reboots, I for one am all for them. And not for a personal standpoint. I tried showing my nephew Dr. No and FRWL, he could only stand maybe 7 minutes. His all time favorite movie? Casino Royale. He likes Bond and all for it, but the time and look don't appeal to him.

I showed him original Robocop and could not stand it. My father, on the other hand, loves the original. So when we came out from watching the new reboot, my nephew became a huge fan and decided to give the original a go, and well he does like it now. My dad was impressed by the effects. Regardless, people will follow the herd and pay for it. Jeez, everyone said Avatar was the most incredible thing they have ever witnessed, I have PS2 games from 2002 that topped Avatar and from years before.

Sure movies come off as original, but it's either a reboot, a disguised existing film, or pre-sequel bull. Read directors and every studios interview, you will always see something like, "This film is a mix of blank with a bit of blank".

That was just my explanation. also my purpose of this thread was to see people's dream team. People become fanatics and get enraged because a film mentioned should never be redone. I wholeheartedly disagree, it's unfortunate, but that's the ****ing cycle. Music, movies, games. It's all same ****, different restrooms.

I would reboot Star Wars.

Now that we have a clearer picture of the story. You could make it so much better by clearing up all the inconsistencies in the continuity, majorly the Luke and Leia love plot. And why Vader is subservient in ANH, considering he's the "main character" in the whole story. Just start with Episode 1, and go from there.

The Neverending story for me. Would love to see it done with todays technology. Also I agree with whomever said Masters of the Universe, bring that on :)

To be fair, Dr. No is the most boring James Bond film of them all. FRWL, it's awesome though, but compared to the new ones, which have more action, I can see kids not liking it. I grew watching the Sean Connery Bond films, even though it was the late 80's and 90's, so I like them, especially the look and time. It's so classic.

Masters of the Universe needs a reboot/proper film. As to who should play what parts...I have no earthly idea. :lol

They'd just get Channing Tatum for the lead. Though I'm not sure who'd be worse at it, him or lundgren. lol Still, it's one worth a solid reboot.

Annie Hall, starring Seth Rogan and Melissa McCarthy. Paul Simon role played by that annoying English guy.

Seriously though, Man of Steel and Transformers. Also, Fantastic Four.

Flash Gordon

Emperor Ming : Ben Kingsley or unexpected cast like Hugo Weaving / Christoph waltz
Flash Gordon : Chris Evans / Tom hardy
Dale Arden : no Scarjo please, maybe Eva Green

Flash Gordon, being a classic pulp hero, would warrant a new film IMO. And though the initial one has a kitschy charm, it's not very good. Be nice if the Queen soundtrack got reused, though. I would dig a Defenders of the Earth movie with Flash, the Phantom, and Mandrake the Magician teaming up.
