Curious what got you started into the 1/6th world... what figure was it that started it all for you?

For me, it really all started in 1992 with 1/6th scale garage kits and Asian vinyl model kits. I still have a slew of them -- everything from a resin Mad Max to the Billiken Joker. Then, the first real 1/6th "clothed" figure I got was the original Medicom Connery James Bond...I think they called it Real Action Hero then, maybe something else.

Admittedly, I did start picking up a few of the 12" Hasbro Star Wars figures in 1997, the ones I thought were cool. But that grew of course, as all things SW do.

The Atomic Man Mike Powers waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day. I think I was 4.

Second was either a 12" Mego Spiderman or the 12" Remco Frankenstein.

Well, I'm not going to count old Hasbro Star Wars figures, so my first high end 1/6 figure was Hot Toys Rambo:First Blood Part 2 John Rambo.

I guess officialy my first was the 12" Stormtrooper I bought with my x-mas money back when I was a kid in the early 80's. But recently my "first" would be the Sideshow Blackbeard.

I don't remember the first one I bought... but I think the turning point figure was the Sideshow Vampyre. That figure was just so awesome that it was if I was bitten :monkey3

My first ever 12" figure was none other than the Six Million Dollar Man himself, Steve Austin. He had the bionic action arm that could lift objects and the eye that you could look through to see far away objects (although I think mine had a lens that was reversed cuz the only way objects looked closer was if I looked through the front of his eye and not the back like you were supposed to...oh well, didn't bother me much when I was a kid).

My first modern era 12" figure was the Marmit Stormtrooper when it first came out years ago. Promptly broke the hip while trying to get the armor on (this was before I understood how to use a blowdryer properly to soften the plastic...didn't help that the instructions were in Japanese either) and so it also became my first surgical hip repair. Even after all these years with all the great figures that have come out, still looks sweet. And the hip still works.

I have no idea what my first 1/6 figure ever was. That was probably over 20 years ago.

But my first as an adult was the orginal SS Freddy.

12" GI Joe Adventure Team Air Adventurer back in the 70's. I don't know what happened to him :monkey2

My first 12 incher was a Mattel Elvis Presley. I bought the 50's one and the comeback. But I think I really got into it when I was visiting a friend in california and saw the Kenner electronic Darth Vader with the reveal helmet and the emperor right beside it. That was 1998.

The Captain was my first, then some 30 years later, I bought Sideshow's Frankenstein.

I think mine was a Toybiz Spiderman made back in the 90s. The first 'high-end' I got were SS' Mace Windu and Qui-Gon Jinn.

As a kid it was the OS Star Trek characters.

As a collector it was the Hasbro SW figures from the 90's. I don't remember which was first.

If you're talking the new higher end 1:6 of today then Jedi Luke from SS was the first.

My first 1/6th was probably Hasbro's Darth Vader in the 90's.

My first 1/6th as an adult would be the awesome Jabba the Hutt!!! He is truly awesome and forced me to buy the Bib Fortuna figure.

Then Bib and Jabba come to me in my sleep and whisper in my ear that I should buy Leia Boussh and the Bubo pack. Why don't they let me sleep?!?!? Why!?!?! :monkey2

Action man. Who I used to dress up as Marvel superheros! Then many years later Sideshow Spike (human faced version).

That sent me into collecting the rest of the Buffy line big time, then I moved onto Sideshows POTA range, then DrWho....

Haven't looked back since! :rotfl
