Hey Tyler. Seriously man, these are the kind of posts that irritate people. We are a forgiving bunch but please try to be friendly here and I swear you will get in return what you give.

rory, if you read back, you'll see loki was the one with the confrontational post first. i believe he wrote, 'what the **** are you laughing at'. i tried to make light and that ticked him off to the point where he would like to continue this at sdcc.

i'm not the type of person that can sit back and take crap from board bullies. i'm all for everyone getting along but certain people have forged their view of me, which they have every right to. i think it's funny, this is just a discussion board, my life certainly won't be affected by the posts here. maybe it's my fault thinking everyone's lives shouldn't be affected by someone else's posts. i'm sure no one is losing sleep over my stupid opinions.

isn't every post on what a statue is worth opinion and perception? just like it's my 'OPINION' that anyone who spends that much on doom is a sucker. and it seems that i should be able to laugh at anyone i choose in this world. is laughing moderated too? maybe you should also point out in your client's defense that he replied in an aggressive manor as a reaction to my opinion. or are opinions the right of only the privileged here? he has also wished that i attend sdcc, so he can further confront my 'opinion'. and that's an acceptable practice as well?

For your information, I DO have Doom, I bought him retail price, and I know that I should be joining the hype to boost up the value, like so many flippers here do... But I can't. I just can't take spending $1300 bucks seriously, that's one thousand and three hundred bucks for god's sake!!! And as much as I love it and I'm never gona let it go, that amount of money is insane, and the people who are prepared to pay it will always baffle me.

$1300 or any dollar amount is subjective. It all depends on how much disposable income you have. I know to many (myself included) $1300 is quite a bit. To others here, it may just be a drop in the bucket. I can assure you, these aren't 15 year old kids buying these statues at this amount.

I think if there is any groups in here it's these two:
1. Those that buy because they really wanted the sculpt/are fans of the character
2. Those that buy to flip.

And flippers suck because they make it harder for true fans to get the pieces they really waited for years to be made. And I'm not talking about people who sell high on Ebay, good for them, i'm talking about people who will butt in and grab an exclusive at retail just because they know it will be in demand. Just think about it for a second. The only one in this equation that is happy with the hype and high prices are flippers in possession of the piece. The true fans of the piece that also have it are really not bothered about higher values. They are happy with the piece whatever the market value. The other true fans that dont have the piece also dont want the hype because it means they wont be able to afford it. Again, the only one benefiting from hype and high prices are flippers. And they usually masquerade as "proud owners of a grail". Whereas the true fans are simply proud owners of something they love. I hate the snobbish attitude in these forums.
