I never understood the hate for T3 either.
What are the complaints? Arnold had some cheesy "talk to da hand" lines every now and then, there didn't need to be another modern day time travel story...and some of the CGI was iffy?
I haven't seen T3 in probably 4-5 years, but I don't remember ever thinking it was bad. Loved near the end where everything goes to **** and they're fighting the mini hunter killers and those big tankinators all the way to the bunker, helicopter crash, T-X's demise and then the best part...the nuclear missile launch. That was all perfect IMO.
I'm glad we had another modern day movie before the future war. I liked seeing the beginning of the end and I thought they did a good job with it. Didn't they uh, stop judgement day in T2? It seems silly to go straight from T2 to a future war film if as far as we know everything was supposed to be A-OK.
Salvation is the only Terminator film I was disappointed with. It was alright, it just could have been a lot better. The future depicted in Salvation isn't at all how I imagined the world to look in that time. I think X-Men: Days of Future Past did a much better job of portraying an apocalyptic Terminator-esque future than Salvation did.
