Meh, they'd make winston, Janine, lewis tully, and slimer, then call it a day after giving us walter peck as a sdcc exclusive.
It would be really nice…. I fear that the Matty Collector figures are as good as its going to get. That is why MANY of us resorted to kit bashing our own.
Sad but true. I have both GB1 and GB2 12" sets and would love someone to get the license and do a better job on these. The more time passes, I just can't see this happening. I can't afford to bash new figures with updated sculpts, etc.

Well if we got as lucky on this. What would be the most wanted versions of them, the original color outfits or the darker nr2 outfits.
I realy cant choose since the first would be the original of course. And the second would (maybe) be with the slime blower on some of them. They mostly used the original color in the second one, but then the logo would not be the original. I am movie accurate!

The Ghostbusters 1 versions are all I want. The GB2 uniforms really only looked good on the poster.
Unfortunately I think Matty will sit on the license and do little with it so Hot Toys won't happen. The trap replicas they did have long since sold out and are going for silly money on EBay but they refuse to do another run of them until the third movie comes out, if it ever happens that is. They're really not giving fans what they want. They're not even using the better Ray sculpt on the new removable pack figures, they're using the older one which doesn't look as good, for some reason.

I'm playing Ghostbusters: the Videogame right now. Has there ever been a figure of the rookie? 
I really, really would love 1/6 Ghostbusters figures but those damn Mattel ones seems to be getting bad rep from everyone. Since we're not seeing any 30th Anniversary figure announcement, the chances of a 1/6 treatment is all the more slim. Sigh.

Some mattel parts are ok though! There we some amazing custom ghostbusters figures around here.

Yea, they made a figure of him. He goes for pretty good money on eBay last time I checked. I bought two of every GB figure Matty released. Some were good, some were useless.
I'm probably not going to give matty any more of my money when the removable pack figures are released this fall.
We are getting a 1/4 scale demon dog from another company. Diamond Select still releases Ghostbusters stuff now and again, and Quantum Mechanix is now doing cartoony statues. So, there are some out there using the license. But Sideshow hasn't shown much interest that I can see.
Too bad. I've seen that Terror Dog and I have a few Diamond Select banks (Stay Pufts, Slimer, etc). Unfortunately Matty has a stranglehold on the 12" figure license it seems.
Maybe with the recent popularity of the Lego set, that other brands may hop on board? haha. Hot Toys has been dragging its feet on the Back to the Future releases. I imagine if that is successful, that there is a slight chance that the Ghostbusters could be visited, but I have high doubts. Until then the kit bashes is the best we will get.

And yeah, I don't think Matty having the license prevents others from pursuing it as well... they released that awful Christover Reeve figure and then HT gave us the one we deserved. Too bad HT never gave us a classic Zod

The proton packs are nice but that's about it, or so I've heard. I wonder if a repaint would save those sculpts?

I think the Giant Sloar would make a great statue as well.
No amount of repainting will take the cartoonishness out of those sculpts. There is more to salvage than just the proton packs though. The belt accessories are nice. I also think the suits when they are water treated and dyed look really nice as well.

I'd have to agree... I know some prefer flight suits from other companies for GB customs, but I really like the cut and style of the Matty. The fake zippers are lame, but honestly not a bad (although cheap) solution. Same with the accessories and doo-hickeys, and the traps are great.
I'm just about done with my Venkman and the Matty figure is a great and cheap start, I found the GB2 2-pack at Big Lots so he only cost $30.
Some guys on the forum are trying to do 1/6 scale demon dogs, but I believe the official ones will be 1/4 scale.
