TDK was a great film, but many people have already said the movie wouldnt have been so good if heath ledger wasnt in it and i agree. But Iron Man was great all-round.
Even though Iron Man has always been my favourite superhero that has nothing to do with this!

Sorry if I sound rude but I will never get that logic. The fact is that Heath Ledger was part of the movie and he gave a great performance as the Joker. Why would you consider rating "The Dark Knight" without Ledger's performance. That's like saying Iron Man wouldn't have been good if RDJ wasn't in it, the Alien franchise wouldn't have been as good without Sigourney Weaver, or the Chicago Bulls Dynasty wouldn't have been as good without Scottie Pippen. The Joker played a big part in the storyline so of course the movie wouldn't have been as good without Heath's amazing performance. Just my two cents.

That's what I meant.
If I were to vote for best movie I would say IM but if I were to vote for best character I would vote for Joker.
I wouldn't vote TDK as best movie cause I only cared about the Joker. Batman and the rest of the characters, including the story, left me uninterested. This is a Batman movie and yet Batman sucked. This movie was about Ledger.
IM on the other hand had me caring for the title character. It was not pretentious, it was fun, witty, and left me wanting to see more of the franchise.
TDK left me sad cause I wouldnt see any more of Ledger...

Well put. I totally agree. Considering the money it made I thought TDK would blow IM outta the water in this poll. It has a majority, but nothing close to a blowout.

This poll mirrors the movies box office totals closer than I would have thought. TDK has IM beaten by about 60% at the box office and this poll shows 50% more people prefer TDK movie to the IM movie.

I enjoyed Dark Knight, but I thought that Iron Man was much more enjoyable. I honestly believe that the death of Heath Ledger contributed more to the film's success than most people acknowledge. For the record, his performance was easily the most engrossing part of the film for me.

Dark Knight, while good, was for me nowhere near the religious experience it was for so many others.

funny thing is I only watched IM in theater once.. and I didn't even pay for it.. but after I watched it I had NO urge to watch it again.. now as for TDK I had to watch multiple times.

I did see Iron Man twice in the theater, and loved it both times. In fact, there were some parts I liked even better on the second viewing. And, I went twice because I really wanted to. I also saw The Dark Knight twice, but only because someone else wanted me to go see it with them. I would not have gone a second time on my own.

Different tastes, I guess.

I woulda gone because Batman Begins was great, and The Joker is a great villain. Regardless WHO played him.

DW, its not rude.
I understand what you're saying.
T'was just my opinion

Iron Man was the more entertaining movie for me with more watchability value. TDK was really dark and depressing, but it is a better movie IMHO. Better acting, better story, more epic. I thought more about the TDK after watching than IM. TDK left me wtih a deeper impression.

I think they are both great movies that I will definitely get on Blue-Ray. Which one I watch again will depend on my mood.

you must be an emo kid, thats why.

Haven't yet seen Iron Man so I haven't voted. I'm taking it on faith that its good and have ordered Mark II and Mark III hot toys figures. Even if I don't like it those figures look astounding.

Loved TDK though and am suffering Hot toys completism with regard to that line.

Its a pity so many people are saying The Joker made that film - just like Nicholson made the 1989 film. They seem to forget how well received Christian Bale was in Batman Begins - a film that was definitively about Batman rather than the villain. Bale is as much part of the greatness of TDK as Ledger. Even before ledger died there was immense curiosity about a new guy playing The Joker. Despite what some people say I don't think Ledger dying contributed that much to the success of TDK.

yeah it's the only movie i've seen more than once in the theater also, but not for the same reason. i had to see it twice because of all the bathroom breaks the kids and myself needed. if you can make it through that long of a movie, while downing a jumbo pop. your a bigger man than me (and my kids), the second time around only had a small pop:gun:rotfl
