Iron man, by a C hair.
So far.

I really need to have them on DVD and watch them again to give a solid answer.

I think TDK, even with its missteps, was far more epic and impressive than IM. IM is definitely more fun than TDK, and I would probably stick IM in the DVD/bluray player when I want to just relax and watch something light, but I respect TDK more as a film and for the risks the team took with it. IM was a very typical superhero movie, but TDK (almost) transcends the genre and can be viewed as a tragic crime drama. Seriously, take out Bats, remove the Joker's makeup, do a little rewriting to remove Batman related plots, and tone down of the action, and Gordon and Dent could be made the main characters of the film without changing the flow and story of the film. Its amazing how they got Batman to fit perfectly in that kind of a movie.

But yes, I love both films for different reasons, but TDK wins out by a little bit.

I really liked them both but I LOVED TDK. It was dark and twisted - right up my alley.

They were very different, but I prefer the less campy and darker TDK.

Iron Man. Don't care to get into why. This topic has been discussed before and to death. Not surprised we're on this again. We are collectors after all. :peace

Not affraid to say the Watchmen movie will be better than those 2 by far.... Alan Moore fanboy here...you uneducated comic movie goers need to get his Miracleman comic run...and then Swamp Thing...this is where it all started...

Zack Snyder has nailed the visuals, if he can nail the story, it just might be.

I would love to see a Miracleman movie as well as a serious horror Swamp Thing movie.

Both films exceeded my expectations, but Dark Knight edges out Iron Man by quite a bit. Still, both of them will be picked up on DVD and watched a whole bunch.

I hope you're right Shai - I have a lot of faith in the Watchmen movie and from the visuals so far it really looks as though Snyder pulled it off. There's just so much material to cover in that book, that i hope the film is able to devote the necessary time to the story and do it justice - one of my favorite graphic novels (mini-series) of all time!

I actually just watched the Wes Craven Swamp Thing on DVD the other night - hadn't seen it in years since I was a little kid! It inspired to go catch up on the Moore run. I've followed a lot of Moore stuff over the years, but never read Miracleman - maybe I'll check it out. The last Moore work I read was Tom strong - It was nice to see him and Gibbons work on an issue together! :rock

I love Alan Moore as well. :rock

I only hope that the movie is faithfull to the comic. If it can pull that off then yes it will be awesome. I still have a bad feeling that this movie is going to be awful. I hope I'm wrong.

Shai how could you forgot about Hellblazer.

John Constantine is one of Moore's best characters ever. Hellblazer is still one of my favorite books eventhough Moore doesn't contribute to the book anymore.

Finally saw Iron Man today.

If the comparison was between IM and BB I choose IM hands down. But to me the Joker was much more compelling a villain so TDK>IM.

:D

I wonder how well IM will stand up to repeat viewings. I just saw it the one time in the theater and thoroughly enjoyed it. I do recall being surprised that he spends like half the movie in that cave though. Hopefully that won't lead to it feeling too slow or uneventful once RDJ's dialogue becomes old hat.

I really hope Favreau gets a blank check for IM 2. I wonder who'll be the main villain. Hopefully someone with more screen presence than Terrance Howard.

funny thing is I only watched IM in theater once.. and I didn't even pay for it.. but after I watched it I had NO urge to watch it again.. now as for TDK I had to watch multiple times. yeah I wonder how it will be looked upon once it's 2-3 years old like Begins..

TDK was a great film, but many people have already said the movie wouldnt have been so good if heath ledger wasnt in it and i agree. But Iron Man was great all-round.
Even though Iron Man has always been my favourite superhero that has nothing to do with this!

Had to go with TDK, loved IRONMAN but TDK seemed like a more rounded movie. Hellboy II comes in pretty close as well.
