Hmmmm. I really liked both movies for different reasons. Robert Downey Jr. was awesome as Stark- perfect even. The Iron Man movie itself was a bit boring. I really just don't like origin movies and I also thought the end battle was weak.

Now onto Batman, Ledger was UNBELIEVABLE- PERFECT!! He was actually scary good. Bale is getting stale but still the best batman the screen has seen. The story towards the end faltered but Ledger did make this movie brilliant. They better have another hidden Ace like Ledger up their sleeves for the next sequel or it's gonna suck.

I couldn't said it any better. Iron man was awesome and R. Downey Jr nailed Stark but Ledger's performance was brilliant. His performance separated the two films.

Stands to reason the poll would reflect the box office. Batman will always be more popular than the late comer Ironman.

Just saw Iron Man for the first time - Voted for TDK.

Iron man was decent but I definitely prefer the serious approach and the more realistic superhero of Batman so I'm automatically biased. However I do think TDK was the better film. In terms of the villain and plot, and aside from the fact that ledger played the Joker as well as fans hoped he would, there seemed to be more at stake in TDK. Iron man didn't seem to have a core villain until late in the film and as such he didn't get much of a chance to seem threatening. He was 'born' and immediately confronted and destroyed by Iron Man - all he got to do was lift up a car with a few people in it.

Still getting the Hot toys Mark II and III figures as they look simply amazing. Not sure if I'll get Mark I - which must mean I probably will.

Only when he's in a better movie. I'm guessing that if the poll was titled "Which Movie Did you Prefer...IM or Batman and Robin?" the results would have been quite different. :)
I see your point, and, of course, the error of mine, in relation to the movies, but I stand by the fact that Batman is a more popular character, and the reflection of the box office between the two stated movies.

Batman has almost 25 years of history on IM and a lot more brand familiarity with the general public. Batman was expected to be a box office smash. It lived up to it's billing. That said, Iron Man was not exactly a familiar face to the average joe. A LOT fewer lunch boxes with his mug on 'em over the years. Iron Man was expected to do well, but perhaps not reach blockbuster status. I think it far exceeded the studio expectations. I think it is a bigger success story for those reasons. Not necessarily a better movie.

One thing i've noticed....Lotta of younger folk are into the TDK. I know bats has all ages as do most comic characters. But lots of youngin(16-24) are flocking to this new Bats Movie.

Iron Man seems like the cool uncle that came out and everyone wants to hang with to me. While TDK will always be considered a great film, the "epicness" i feel will fade after a year or so after this inital bat-hype dies down.. And remain a great sequel to BB. If IM2 can be as good or better than the first (which is saying something) Then we'll have another great Comic character franchise up and on the way as well.

I for one am just glad this summer got my 15 year old nephew into reading comics! He always liked the DC and Marvel cartoons and movies but now after seeing IM , TDK and IH he is going thru my comics and devouring them. I'M FINALLY THE COOL UNCLE!!!!

powered armor, superhuman strength and durability, flight and an array of weapons.
