My goodness Les, your HT Supes looks amazing! I never saw him standing next to CR or missed it in your earlier pic posts and always thought it was too short but you cracked it bro, great repaint too, really love it. :D

OKAY!!

Les, those were spot on directions. It was touch and go there for awhile and without your directions and photographic proof that it was possible, I would have turned back.

I used half a travel size Kleenex in each boot and Superman now stands just over 12 1/4 inches tall or (X6) 6'4" which is what he claims to be in the film.

Thanks again, man! I owe you one!

Here he is with Batman, the difference in height may be subtle but it adds an undeniable truthiness to the figures.

And joining them is Medicom Neo, with the same heightening trick (plus rubber bands on his ankels)...

Thanks again, Les!

Great work Gdb! That looks awesome!:D I have to get that Neo some times. He looks really good!

Thanks! I owe it all to Les' directions. I gotta say it's really nice to have Superman's shoulders above Batman's.

and if you look at the new HT bodies, they borrow alot from the RAH body..
I read the early pages, alot of people criticized the medicom superman's likeness... before it even came out... lol, IMO the HT looks nothing like routh.

The Medicom's jaw is a bit long though.

I'll give all you guys one thing, THAT's HOW YOU DEFEND A FIGURE!

I am not THAT Against the Medi, I just dislike Medi's scale in general, and that body shape in particular. BUt, I have admitted that the Medi head and cape on a HT body would be the best of both worlds.
Repainted the HT is pretty on to me. Not too shabby. I'd like to see a repainted Medi head to see where it ended up. Neither look dead on. But that is kind of rare anyway. A true dead on is a one in 100 sculpt. To my eyes anyway.

Great photos! Keep 'em coming! LOVE the one where Supes is put in stopping the Daily PLanet globe! Super job on that one!:D

Hi Figuremaster Les,
I think the body swapping is unnecessary.
The medi supes body can be "filled up" with faux leather like what Edwint and I did. Cloth would do fine but Faux leather would look better and easier to manage.

I say apart from the turtle neck which is ignorable, I say my medi supes is perfect as it is.

But it's subjective to individual taste.

For my money, your picture post just re-enforces the HT position. Not seeing much of Routh in the Medi at all; it's very caricatured compared to the HT. Admittedly, since I own an HT I might be a little biased, but I disliked the Medi from the moment I saw it, whereas I wanted the HT immediately.
This is clearly an issue that's not going away soon;witness the fact that this thread is now over 50 pages! Don't you just love a lively and pointless debate?...PS

Okay.........

I have to admit, the more pics I see of Medi Supes the more my opinion of him improves. Specifically edwint's from Rebelscum, that guy knows how to take dynamic pics. I still don't like the way the head sits so high above the shoulders though, and the Popeye forearms still look a little goofy, but filling out his midsection makes him look a whole lot better.

All I got to say is that each figure has his own strengths. I love Medicom, DCD, HT, and SSC. All of these companies have their own strenghts and weaknesses. The Medicom Superman is awsome as well as the HT Superman. The DCD SR figure is good for its price point as well as Mattel's 2 1/6 scale figures.
By the way, it is good to see you guys here now. Hope you didn't mind the link to the site Venny?:D

Niether of the figures suck out-right.

Medicom has their own style and Superman seems to be right in line with it. Personally I'm just not that big a fan of it (Superman and Jack Sparrow both look like drag queens to my eye).

But the style issue could also be said of Hot Toys -- their eyes always seem to be too big and too, I dunno, diamond shaped or something. For my own personal taste, I'll put my money and my mouth in the Hot Toys camp.

I will say that if you add the Medicom Clark Kent to their Superman and create a set... now that would start to come close to the Hot Toys Superman for me. Yup, the pair would be pretty sweet.
