we can't repel blotchy paint apps of that magnitude!!

Well after having his way with Captain Jack Sparrow, you don't think he would've turned out squeky-clean, do you?
Plus, it's clear that CelticP has had that figure for a long time... and it's had its adventures.

I personally like it because they finally used ball-jointed hips = WIN!

He has KICKING ACTION. You know, AvP may be one of the worst pieces of ____ ever concived....but man, the time leading up to it? Too much fun. The toys, the trailers, the excitement, the anger, the love, the hate, the fun! :D

Celtic will always have a special place in my heart. Hence why all my boardnames on every forum I go to will be CelticPredator...or CelticP if i'm lazy...heh.

I'm gonna have to stop you, right there. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a heck of a lot better than AVP-R... but then again, so is a steaming pile of poo. Whatev. I, quite frankly, loved the movie. Plus it was very entertaining:
Scar, going ninja, stabbing his spear through the Queen's throat in slow motion. It's amazing how Paul W.S. Anderson actually managed to add a new level of badassery depth to the characters. His stylized take was perfectly welcome for me.

So it's the basic shape of it. It has the right Arnold-ish feel, while HT has the crispness in detail. I see what you're drivin' at.

Yeah. Obviously the Hot Toys is the figure that would more impress someone coming in to look at my collection but if you're fanatical about these things it is possible to suggest where the raw sculpt of the low end figure, to say nothing of minute details, finish and paintjob, actually (SHOCK HORROR) has it down more accurately than the high end - in something as basic as the length of the face. I don't understand why that is such a difficult concession to make for some. This does not mean that if my house was on fire I'd sooner rescue my NECA figure - it is simply an objective statement of what appears to be the case so far...I say 'appears to be' because obviously no one has the Hot Toys figure yet and we can't be 100% certain.

'Comparing' does not have to mean that you're saying one is better than the other. So I don't get why the very idea of it is such an appalling thing to Nam.

Same reason why I avoided the HT Wolf Pred. His mandibles were too skinny and puckered up. Also his head wasn't quite the right shape and came out looking like a raisin :wacky . Mehhhhh.... Wolf wasn't even a fave design of mine, so I saw no need to splurge on an expensive figure I don't really like.

I bought both HT Wolf Predators and to be honest they're not my favourite...it was the hype I bought into. Once the film is out a while and its confirmed that it isn't good after repeat viewings it kinda sours the figures. Thats why I'm worried about buying stuff from the new film.

I'm just happy we're finally getting an Alien or Pred-related movie in the 21st century that's headed by someone who actually knows what he's doing...
I mean, special effects guys? Since when do they hand out the character licenses to any random guy walking through the door?

I dunno if I'll buy the HT Preds from "Predators," since the designs seem too simple to warrant getting a Hot Toys version... but I'll definitely get the NECA ones. This summer, my 8" figure collection is gonna have a major growth spurt. I can picture it now... Boy, oh, boy! (rubs hands together)
Plus, I'm one of the many who wants to buy HT's Neytiri when she comes out. I'm thinkin' sideways mid-air diving pose, bow and arrow about to shoot. Good God, I get so pumped thinking about it.

EDIT:

BTW, Skiman? I responded to your comment on my sale thread, so... clue me in on that "Hmmmm...."

I repainted my Celtic's eyes.

But if Nam wants to call NECA and McF garbage...let him. :lol Who cares....

BUT, that being said, this is still my all time favorite figure.

This is crap :lol

Couldn't resist. I just got an awesome shot of P1 taking the pain to my Grid Alien's Facehugger:

This is exactly the type of crap I'm talking about. You need glasses:

NECA turd:

HT sculpt:

To anyone with an iota of common sense, it's ____ing clear which sculpt is better. And it ain't that turd up top.

Umm....____ no. AvP raped the series. And AvP-R had sex with it's dead corpse.

Truth hurts? :lol

Not really, no. Because he's explained to you countless times what he means. Crispness and detail goes to HT. Overall shape and feel goes to NECA. There. If you don't agree, believe me WE GET IT. Who the flying frick cares?
The world's full of people who won't see things the same way as you. If this thread is where you learn that simple fact, I weep for the future.

BTW, that "Good God, just stop it already" thing? Yeah, it means I'm annoyed. And I'm not the only one. Worship your figure in that thread of yours. We'll stay here and enjoy ourselves discussing Preds like we've been thankfully doing for the past two pages.

If the overall shape and feel of an Arnold sculpt was half chimp and half pimpleheaded retard I'd give you that much. But it's not and NECA fails. Go back to your NECA thread and turd worship, or back to the WTB threads making lowball offers about collectibles you can't comprehend the value of.

#$%@#$%@^&% with these Neca conversations. Every thread I go into someone has to bring up Neca. Someone start a "All things Neca" thread so I don't go insane.

I EXPLAINED THIS TO YOU LIKE FIFTY TIMES!
ALSO, IT'S AN OPINION! GOOD GOD, WHY IS THAT SO BOTHERSOME TO YOU!? WHY IS IT SO NAGGING TO YOU!?

Here's an idea: COPE. JUST DEAL WITH IT. Count backwards from 10, if it works, do it.

Y'know, I'm starting to think you're the troll in this case -- because you keep bringing it up, when no one clearly cares! We've tried to get past it, we've tried to move on, we've repeated ourselves, but you just keep pushing forward with a point that is based entirely on personal taste! I hope that these responses are enjoyable for you, because I can't explain how fun it is to bring it back OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

You want a bottom line? Here it is:

WE GET IT. MESSAGE RECIEVED. Well, actually... MESSAGE RECIEVED, LIKE A HUNDRED TIMES. Maybe YOU should go back to your HT T-800 thread and stay there. Good lord, why is that so hard? I'm a freshman and I have more common sense!
