Good points Avenger. That's pretty much what's happening to McFarlane toys. They were great at first and I especially loved the Sports Pick lines. It was like having 3D football, baseball, hockey cards. Then as more customers started coming in, they dumped the lines that didn't sell as well (which were the lines that brought them the noteriety to go mainstream to begin with), and on the SPs they just used the same bodies over and over again and the paint apps looked like grade schoolers had taken over. That company ____ on the loyal fans that got them to where they were and didn't give two ____s about it. Now SSC isn't doing the extremes that McF did, but it seems they're trying to do too much with too little and the end product is suffering.

Meanwhile 1/6 (soon to be also 1/4) figure companies are improving in quality and adding more lines. Sure the prices are going up, but at least you can see where your extra $75-$100 goes. Interesting era for collectibles...

If I have a major suplus of cash come my way, I will pick it up. But will that happen? Probably not, haha. I should add that I have the P1 maquette ex...that was totally worth the $1K I paid for it.

I still have a hard time believing that this is 1/3 scale. The Cinemaquette Predator is 32" tall from the base to the head and the wolf predator has a ticker base and is measured 31" from whip to base. Unless Sideshow is telling us that the original Predator is taller than the Wolf Predator. If Sideshow can guarentee that it is 1/3 scale and will take extra case of paint apps and quality control to match Cinemaquette standards I may opt for one then.

But then again, some releases are riddled with QC problems. If they want to jack the prices up like they are, I want damn near perfection. I can understand that when they started their runs were almost half as small as what they're producing now, but just because it has a better sculpt doesn't mean that you can give it less accessories and questionable paint apps but jack the price up more, just because there's more of a market.

Not jealous but 2k to some people is the difference between whether you watch your children eat or you're able to afford to eat with them.

Thats youre own fault .
You wanna have children so you also must pay the bills and food for the children.
Its not my fault

No, not that is was me who called you that anyway, it just means your one of the lucky ones with a higher disposable income who has the opportunity to buy this potentially great piece.

Joeproxx called me like that, maybe i am lucky but i work everydag 15 to 16 hours so i am not so lucky

Yep. Honestly, I don't see 1/6 doing anything right now that deviates from the process I outlined earlier. HT 89 Batman is starting to be another example. Great figure, but production may have not been done right, and issues with leaking rubber body suits are popping up. DX02 worries abound. With more licenses, more figures, and more details, you can't keep hammering on production without lowering QC standards.

I gonna order 1 because i am a big fan and a true fan never skip a statue like this one

Jealous??
Why i am a freak by the way

So if i can pay that statue i am a freak? This is BS

Well accusing people of not being a "true fan" because they don't have the means to pay for it won't get you brownie points. Then accusing people of being jealous because maybe you can afford and they can't doesn't help, either.

You've gotten on quite a few threads spouting off that you had insider info about future releases that we WOULD be seeing soon, but have never even been any table for discussion. So, I'd venture to say the likely hood of you actually getting this, or any other pricey piece, are about as accurate as the upcoming releases you've guaranteed being made, that have never even been discussed for production.

MAN, I cant even begin to describe how frustrated I am that SS did this. $2400 for this!!?? Amazing? Damn right! Cool pose? Hell yea! 1/3rd? Highly doubtful! 2k? WTF Seriously?? This was my #1 most anticipated piece from SS and I was so ready to get this, but with a price tag like that, its crazy! All the other grail pieces out there that I could get for that price with an Ed# and know it has value. I mean if you got this and needed to sell it for whatever reason, you really think youll make a profit on it? This is a lose/lose with the open edition, price, scale, no bio lights, and cause its sideshow, paint apps will not live up to the proto. Oh yea, sweet pose tho!

Anymore with HT lines, it's almost better to wait until their 3rd run because their first releases are so riddled with QC problems. '89 Bats, like you've said, and the Classic Pred are recent examples. I like the lines they're making and all, but I hate the Russian Roulette you seem to be playing by ordering their figures anymore.

It's not $2400. When you purchase it you have to pay that $400 NRD, but that comes off of the 2K price tag when you pay it.

This has to be one of, if not the best, posed predator pieces ever made. I do wish it was bigger in overall size though for the added price.

:slap Dude!!!! calm down Bro. :wave I am happy for you. This is a cool piece every body knows that is just NOT worth of 2K :cuckoo: if this thing is 1/2 scale and there is a light up feature at least then it will be more awesome. :lecture For me if i am getting this in a year or 2 or maybe NOT but won't be buying this directly @ SSC may be @ ebay. by the way i like Predator :rock:rock:rock PEACE!!!!!!!

Whether you're rich or not, this thing is a rip off. The paint won't come out looking any better than somthing from HT.
I don't really give a ____ about the ES stuff, I just want this statue to look like it's woth an entire TWO. THOUSAND. DOLLARS.

TWO. THOUSAND. DOLLARS.

This doesn't look to be full 1/3 scale, either. It looks inbetween 1/3 and 1/4.. So then we need to think about the last Predator Maquette, which I believe WAS a little bit bigger than 1/4...it was one thousand dollars, right?
The paint on that one will be much better than this, as is the sculpt.

If you look at the severed alien areas at the base, you will notice that the paint app is horrible. And this is the prototype..which is going to look (much) better than the final product.. And the bio mask doesn't look so great, very soft/bland...etc.

If I was rich, I'd buy it. But I'd pay to have it repainted and parts of it resculpted...because I wouldn't be blind to the issues since I can suddenly afford it.

The only good thing about this is the pose, to be honest..and the pose is incredible.

So, the line of 1/4 figures are an additional $75 - $100 when compared to their 1/6 counterparts? How so?
