:slap Dude!!!! calm down Bro. :wave I am happy for you. This is a cool piece every body knows that is just NOT worth of 2K :cuckoo: if this thing is 1/2 scale and there is a light up feature at least then it will be more awesome. :lecture For me if i am getting this in a year or 2 or maybe NOT but won't be buying this directly @ SSC may be @ ebay. by the way i like Predator :rock:rock:rock PEACE!!!!!!!

He's just getting on here SAYING he's getting it, and basically rubbing it in the face of people who can't afford it. Like I said earlier, he blabs in a lot of threads and I highly doubt he is even getting this piece, let alone have the stuff he SAYS he does.

Completely uncool what he does to these people. Not everyone has the means to buy everything they would like to get, and for the ones who can, they shouldn't look down on others who might have lost a job due to downsizing, been in an accident and can't work or choose to have kids in lieu of buying 2K pieces.

These figures and statues associated with this hobby are awesome, and for those that do have the means to buy everything they want, kudos and thanks for sharing, but fact of the matter is- I'll take having kids over buying 2K+ pieces any day. When I'm on my last leg and on my death bed, Wolf ain't jumping off the dismembered Alien to come into my hospital room and hold my hand to comfort me during my final hours.

IF this kid (I say kid because that's how he acts, like a stuck-up kid in HS picking on the kids whose parents are struggling because they don't wear nice clothes like he does) can afford these pieces, whatever. No one is jealous or cares. When he's on his death bed they'll sit in his lonely home collecting dust because he'll have no one to bring them to him.

Whether you're rich or not, this thing is a rip off. The paint won't come out looking any better than somthing from HT.
I don't really give a ____ about the ES stuff, I just want this statue to look like it's woth an entire TWO. THOUSAND. DOLLARS.

TWO. THOUSAND. DOLLARS.

This doesn't look to be full 1/3 scale, either. It looks inbetween 1/3 and 1/4..

Actually, from what I've seen they're trying to say this falls in line with the 1:2 scale (which is what these LSF lines are supposed to be), so I guess they're feeling this justifies that absurd price, which I think is a complete farce.

As a collector I like to look in the 'things I can't afford' threads so I can see and enjoy some cool pieces. People who gloat and try to make other people feel jealous have bad egos; not just in here but in every aspect of life.

No doubt.
It's even hard to believe that it's 1:3, which is what they posted in their FB page, according to another freak in this forum.

Those that saw it in person at the Comic Con and even SilentSurfer (who saw it at SSC offices) say it is 1:4.

That's one of the main reasons I joined this forum :lol That, and no one I associate with outside of here is in this hobby. I just always get "you collect dolls." I was picking on my friend on FB, and she pretty much told me to shut up and go play with my dolls :monkey2 That stung deep.

I wouldn't pay $500 for that Darth Maul 1/2 statue, it looks like an eight year old.

And yeah, it's obvious that they put it with the "LSF" line to try and justify the price..

I'm going to be on that one show My Strange Addiction :lol

Like I said earlier, there's a whole world of collectors outside of us on this forum. Some people have more money than brains and don't know any better, and as long as they keep blindly buying these things, we'll never see reasonable prices again :monkey2

CM was not open edition right?

That's very true. I had the same discussion about King John who raised taxes. He had to eat too.

Agreed - I bought one of the last (if not the last) CM Predator at retail directly from CM and wouldn't sell him for under $3500. Despite owning all the "grail" Alien and Pred items, he's my favorite. Though I'll probably get the new Wolf, it may well be the last SS item I buy. This is a pretty clear case of gauging the consumer by "testing" what the market will bear. Unfortunately, they probably priced themselves out of a pretty large market. I could imagine at least double, if not triple, the sales had they priced this piece closer to $1500.

Well yeah, if this was a limited edition set at, say, 750, then a lot of people would see that as a means of justifying a higher price, and it'd probably sell out in minutes. Saying it's part of their 1:2 scale LSF line, and leaving it at an open ES, they are just testing the waters to see how many they can rake in.

The problem is, a lot of new collectors to this hobby are getting on eBay and seeing some of the early releases of Predator statues and busts going for 3 times their retail price, and they think every piece is going to do that, so SSC leaves these open ES and end up making way more than the demand is there for, and in-turn that's killing the resale value on the secondary market. I say just wait these pieces out and they'll probably be $1500 2-3 years from now.

I think Sideshow was watching GOODFELLAS when they came up with the price for this piece:
