Look guys.. This piece, and any piece out of this line, is obviously out of most of our leagues. I wouldn't fuss too much about it though, it's not like its going to be the only Wolf piece to come out in the months and years to come.

Really, stop kicking yourself as if you've just lost the only chance at the character. They're is sure to be a Legnedary Bust, a smaller maquette and who knows what other formats. But the legendary format is for a different kind of collector, one with a legendary bank account! :lol

WORD!:exactly:

I've decided to take one for the team. I went ahead and ordered all LSF's. I'll give everyone my honest and fair opinion of these when they get here. I will be doing video reviews also. We'll see if these pieces quality matches the price.

Worst case, I send them back. Best case, they blow me away and I keep them.

Chris

good to see you back in the game Chris.

maybe SS new strategy is to sell fewer pieces but with higher margins.

that way QC can improve while maintaining profits. =D

Even myself, an outsider in this thread and an outsider on this piece and character, would have to at least consider making this purchase if it was priced in the $1200-1400 price range.

I hated the movie and could care less about the character. It's just that the pose looks so incredible that I would really consider it at that price.

Also take into account this: that this guy might not even reach the 31" mark like they say. A lot of my SS PFs and maquettes are actually shorter than what SS lists on their website by at least .5-1" . Morgul Lord (1"), War Machine (1"), Alien Big Chap(.5")...there is no guarantee this guy is truthfully 31".

:exactly: Right there with you man. I've never been a real big predator fan. Actually the dead alien base is my favorite part of this piece. I was keeping my eye on it because it looks so good. I'm a little relieved they priced it so high..now it's easier to pass. I've been considering saving my money for future Cinemaquettes. They seem to have consistent quality.

Yeah their figures are just estimates, I know a few cases where the website stats were really off. Plus his really long whip and high pedestal adds to the height as well. I could put my 1/6 pred on a high cupboard with a really big custom punk hairdo on him and call it 6 feet. ; p

i think SS knows collectors are willing to pay the aftermarket prices on e-bay so from a business standpoint they rather make the money themselves.

Unfortunately, they forgot what makes people pay that much is it's limited availability. By making this open edition without a number on the base, it opens up the opportunity for more fakes to be made and the price not going up for the years it's available for RRP from the Sideshow website. Plus customers won't be in any hurry to get this since it is available for a long time and the line won't progress.

If you are a greedy company and want a part of the secondary market pie, then make it limited and keep a few statues for yourself to sell.

The Ironman 1:2 could be purchased for a much lower price now to collectors can just wait for prices to plummet since it won't go out of stock. They should sell these Legendary Priced Figures at Walmart and call him the Walmart Wolf.

to be honest making it an open edition seems to benefit collectors.

in the past if you didn't have the coin when a product went up for order you're out of luck.

with an open edition it gives current and future collectors more time and oportunity to get this statue when the economy does better or when people's situations turn around.

I have no issue with an open edition.

I don't care about the $2000 price tag, but I do care a lot of the scale. It's really confusing.
What is it ? 1/4th ? 1/3th ?

Can Sideshow confirm ?
They said on Facebook 1/3th.

Can't believe it.
The P1 maquette is about 60 cm's = 1/4th
The CM about 80 cm's = 1/3th

Wolf is about 75 cm's with that alien he's standing on, so it seems he's 1/4th ...

For someone who's ____e at math like me what is the actual size difference between the legendary Wolf and Wolverine?

Not sure what you mean exactly. They are the same height according to SS. But Wolverine is 1:2 and despite what SS says I think Wolf is 1:4...But it doesn't matter. The size difference between 1:2 and 1:3 is 25%. This 25% size difference is the same for 1:3 and 1:4, 1:4 and 1:5, 1:5 and 1:6 etc.

No ____ing way this is 1:3. Wolf would be 32" tall in 1:3 scale. Looking at it next to the IM 1:2 it can't be much more than 25" tall changing the pose to standing up. That's 1:4.

think it's a given that it's 1:4

everything they said up till the debut of the LSF was that a 1:4 Pred was in the works.

and to be honest I rather it be 1:4 2Gs or otherwise.

otherwise the display will be a mix of scales which I personally want to avoid.

So this thing is the same size as a pf then????.....For 2g's?????
I was so excited about this piece and now I just feel like I'm being ripped off. $1000 would have been more of a fair price for this.

It's the same scale, but remember your average 1/4 scale PF statue (minus base) will be 18" tall and this is 24-25" tall (minus Alien and base). A Predator has a lot more detailing to the sculpt and paint than your average character too, more complicated mixed media and Wolf has a lot of gadgets which are all included to boot. Plus there is 1/3 of an Alien. This isn't in the same class as the rubbish 1/5 Predators statues SS bought out. Not even close.
Is it over priced? Yeah, but I have no doubt this would sell for at least this if it had an Ex and an edition size down the road. To compare this to the now standard $350 PF isn't really fair.
