It'll get an ES, a number of pieces recently have the ES a couple of weeks after it goes up, and it's usually lower than what people anticipate

you obviously haven't followed the LSF line, these are made to order, NO ES.

Here are some comparison pics I posted a while back from some collector's photos from the con and of their collections:

wolfcompare04.jpg

this pic is way off, now it's pretty obvious only the tip of the whip makes it as tall as the CM Pred and if you notice, the Wolf base is way thicker and it's still shorter.

I will chime in and say that in the business that I work for, everytime we offer something with a ES it has always sold better than product without. We have tried it both ways, and we sell product that has no ES, but it also has broader appeal. The specialty items that are higher cost tend to "need" that ES for complete sell through. Also, in terms of production...there is just as much overhead in build-to-order as there is in building to a production run, as long as the run is smaller. Switchover costs and mold maintenace is costly in terms of overhead, material and labor costs are lower in terms of overhead...especially in China. I'm not even getting into freight costs and customs compliance costs...once again confirming the advantage to build in runs, especially with production being located overseas. If you have other product management/production questions let me know.

That's some nice insight there. Good to hear about it from someone with experience in the business.

Good job noticing the base heights. I put the them all in the same line to see the size of the head comparisons, so I took out the really high base for the Wolf LSF.

Also the heights on Sideshow website is just an approximation which is where they get the height chart.

Someone could do scale comparison form the pic in my sig too.

this piece is really nice if SS had put price around 1600 with Ex n edition size this will sale like cakE......

That pic makes wolf looks almost the CM, much better and precise the one asian_gfx did a pair of pages ago.

Another much better comparsion shot, I think this illustrates well the 'little' difference between a 1/4 predator and a 1/3 predator.

It's a nice pic. The only thing wrong with the CM is that Steve Wang didn't make the top half of the head accurate at all.

I have both the Cm and SS version. TBH, in person, the 2 don't look that far off (as seen in that pic) from each other unless you have them both side by side, so it's not hard to believe that in person, some ppl that have seen Wolf think he is 1/3.

Yap. That's the only aspect that I dont like about the CM, that is an idealized one, not the one seen in the movie. If he would have made it screen accurate it would be... :monkey1

It's clearly a 1/4th maquette that was originally intended to be released in the Predator Maquette line
until some genius at Sideshow said 'wait, let's put it in the LSF line and double the price' !

I don't mind the $2000,if it was 1/3th !
But then it should've been about 40" ...

yes exactly, they even have the exclusive parts ready, think about it all the real LSF have no switchout parts, yet this guy has not only switchout heads but also spear/whip. It is so obvious the original intend was not lsf but the maquette line.

I really want to have a chat with the guy who made the decision, but guess we will never find out who.

:goodpost: Sounds about right to me.

As nice as the CM is I don't see the P1...if I remember correctly I think Wang sculpted the monster as he would liked it to look today...

If it's really 1/3rd scale he will be 29" head to foot, stretched out.
It's hard to say by looking at pictures. In videos it looks more 1/3rd scale but, all these pictures make it look 1/4.
Either way I will order him. I just need to figure out when and where.
Maybe after I get Neytiri. Then I can use my points to knock off $400 from the Predator.
